Capital Campaign Survey
  • 75 Years of St. Martin's

    Past, Present, & Future

As we enter our 75th year as the parish of St. Martin's-in-the-Fields, we both look back on the incredible ministry we have accomplished together and ahead to an exciting future as our congregation continues to grow in fellowship, worship, and service.

Looking toward that future, our leadership has identified several opportunities that we believe require special funding to realize. Our vestry is considering launching a new capital campaign this fall to fund these projects over the next five years.

We need your help! The purpose of this survey is to get your feedback and hear what you are excited about. As we consider our next chapter as a parish, we need to know which priorities are most important to you and whether you would be excited to support a new capital campaign.

Fill out the survey below and help us shape the next 75 years of St. Martin's.

  • Which best describes your giving history to our church?*
  • Do you currently pledge?*

  • Our leadership has identified several opportunities that build on the growth of our parish, all of which require funding:

    • Endowed Buildings and Grounds Fund: Our church buildings serve so many, and the past decade has seen numerous maintenance and improvement projects to preserve and enhance our physical plant. At the same time, our buildings have entered a period in their lifespan in which they need constant maintenance and repair. Rather than our buildings becoming a burden on our congregation, establishing an endowed maintenance and improvement fund will enable us to approach our campus needs strategically, considering ministry needs and future growth, rather than predominantly budgetary concerns. Establishing this fund now will allow it to grow to provide for future campus improvements, while also enabling new ministry by removing maintenance expenses from the budget.
    • Pipe Organ Improvements: St. Martin's 1972 Pipe Organ sits at the center of our worship, and truly is one of the finest instruments in the Columbia area. Work will center on finishing and filling out the stop list, extending the range of the instrument, and allowing greater musical expression, while also addressing certain acoustic limitations related to the original design and space constraints.
    • Retire Parish Hall Roof Debt: The Parish Hall roof loan represents St. Martin's last remaining debt. Paying off the loan would allow budgeted funds currently paying the mortgage to be allocated elsewhere, enhancing existing ministries and providing for new ones.
