The EIPA Screener is a skills-based screening tool designed to provide a snapshot of a candidate's expressive and receptive educational interpreting skills at the time of screening. It is not a comprehensive evaluation and is significantly shorter than the full EIPA Performance Assessment.
All Screeners will be conducted by the EIPA remotely. Please ensure the Screener Candidate name and email are accurate, as the EIPA will directly connect with the candidate to schedule the screener.
- This screening assesses skill level only. The Screener results (Proficient, Developing, or Not Yet Proficient), are descriptive indicators based on demonstrated skill at the time of the screening and do not constitute a formal recommendation. These designations reflect interpreting skill relative to educational settings and should not be interpreted as an endorsement, guarantee, or prediction of performance or suitability for a specific position.
- Results from this screening do not predict or ensure a specific skill performance on the full EIPA Performance Evaluation. Scores may differ from full EIPA results due to differences in evaluation length, content sampling, and scoring depth.
- This screening is not recommended to be used as the sole or final basis for decision making and does not replace the full EIPA Performance Assessment. Individuls requesting the Screener are strongly encouraged to consider multiple sources of information — including interviews, references, and direct observation — when making decisions.
- Performance on this screening does not indicate whether a candidate meets applicable state licensure, certification, or employment requirements. For a complete evaluation of an interpreter's skills, candidates should complete the full EIPA Performance Test.
