    1. Rates & Payment & Payment Terms

    1.1 Renter agrees to pay booth rent as follows:

    • Full-Time (up to 6 days/week): $185/week
    • Part-Time (2–3 days/week): $135/week
    • Daily Rate (if applicable): $45/day

    1.2 Rent payments will be automatically drafted on Saturday from the Lessee's debit card or bank account through Vagaro

    2. Rent Adjustments

    2.1 Rent adjustments may be implemented with a four-week notice provided by the Lessor.

    3. Late Fee

    3.1 A late fee of 5% of the weekly rent will be applied to overdue payments.

    3.2 If rent remains unpaid for seven days, the rental agreement is subject to termination at the Lessor's discretion.

    4. Term + Termination

    4.1 lease term is 6 months and automatically renews montht to month unless stated otherwise.

    4.2 either party may terminate this lease with 30 day written notice. 

    4.3 immediate termination may occur for violation of policies

    5. Introductory Period

    5.1  The first 30 days is considered an introductory period for all new leases. During this time you will get acquainted with the team, get to know the facility and how we operate. This will also give us ample time to determine if you are a good fit for the salon company and vice versa. The employment/lease relationship may be terminated with or without cause and with or without advanced notice, at any time by you or Opal Hair Company.

    6. Salon hours & working days

       6.1• Earliest start time: 7:00 AM
    • Latest end time: 10:00 PM
    • Salon is closed Sundays

    6.1 Part time rent:

    Part-Time Renters:
    • Assigned a consistent weekly schedule (same days each week)
    • Schedule is fixed to maintain shared chair flow
    • Additional days may be added based on availability

    Shared Chair Expectations:
    • Renter must leave station clean, organized, and ready for the next stylist
    • Respect shared use of space at all times

    6.3 Full time rent: Full time rent is available any of the 6 days the salon is open. 

    7. Leave of Absence 

    At this time Opal Hair Company does not provide leave of any kind. To hold your chair in the salon payment is expected weekely. If rent remains unpaid for seven days, the rental agreement is subject to termination at the Lessor's discretion.

    Policy for Children in Salon

    Children Receiving Services: Children brought into the salon must be receiving a service. Opal Hair Company kindly requests that clients make prior arrangements for the care of their children to maintain a safe and relaxing environment for fellow clients and staff.


    Guests Bringing Children: If a guest brings their child to the salon, Opal Hair Company requests that the stylist informs the guest of the salon's policy regarding children for future appointments.


    Children of Salon Staff: Opal Hair Company asks that salon staff make arrangements for the care of their children outside of the salon during working hours.



    Policy for Pets in Salon

    Opal Hair Company kindly requests that pets not be brought into the salon premises.


    These policies are intended to ensure a professional and comfortable environment for all clients and staff members at Opal Hair Company.

     

    Retail purchasing 

    Employees are encouraged to directly order products from the suppliers at cost; see your salon owner for guidance on how to purchase salon brands from suppliers.

     

    Dress Code
     

    • Employees/lessee’s must dress in a professional and fashionable manner
      cover your bits
      practice good hygiene
      please no - pajamas, sweats, dirty/unmaintained clothing or shoes, or cheap flip flops (safety hazzard)
       

    There are elevated ways to be comfortable, casual and cute. At Opal Hair Company we want you to come to work in a way that feels authentic to you. Team members are expected to maintain good personal hygiene and arrive to work clean, well-groomed, and ready to represent the salon in a professional manner.

    When you’re in the building you not only represent yourself but the company as a whole.

     If we feel that something is outside of this request we will kindly, and privately discuss it with you.

    Leasor Expectations

    Supplies Responsibility: The Lessee is responsible for providing their own supplies, including but not limited to color, treatments, color bowls, brushes, gloves, foils, caps, hot tools, etc. unless otherwise agreed upon. If using slaon property (color bowls, brushes) it is expected that its properly cleaned + returned to its home. 


    Cleanliness and Compliance: The Lessee is responsible for maintaining their space in a clean and tidy manner, adhering to the regulations set forth by the Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology.

     

    Workplace Cleanliness:

    We pride ourselves on providing a clean and safe facility. A facility YOU will enjoy. A clean salon also appeals to guests and invites their return visit. Accordingly, it is imperative that each employee /lessee keep their work areas clean. If any condition exists, in your opinion, is unsafe, unsightly, or under par, please notify your salon owner immediately.

    we ask that all service providers help maintain all communal areas (inluding laundry) in addition to their personal space. *IF chair sharing, be sure to clean your space well and remove personal belongings at the end of your shift. Your chair mat should not be moving your belongings.


    Client Management: Lessee is responsible for managing their own schedule and clients. 

     

    Attendance & Punctuality: as an independent artist you are fully responsible for your schedule. That being said, please arrive on time for guest appointments. Your punctuality is a reflection of Opal.


    Regulatory Compliance: The Lessee is expected to stay informed about and comply with all regulations stipulated by the Kentucky State Board of Cosmetology. In the event that the Lessee is fined for non-compliance, they are responsible for covering their fines as well as any fines incurred by the salon.


    License Maintenance: The Lessee must maintain a current Kentucky Cosmetology license as well as City Business License throughout the duration of their lease agreement. Failure to do so can result in termination of the lease.

     

    Liability Insurance: Lessee is required to carry their own liability insurance.

     

    Loss Prevention:   Employees/ lessee's should immediately report to the owner if they notice any suspicious activity that might be detrimental to the salon company. Such behaviors includes, but not limited to, employee or guest dishonesty or theft, collusion, falsification of appointment books or other salon company records, failure to ring up sales, hazardous conditions, leak of confidential information or other competition with the salon company, etc. Such behaviors are grounds for immediate termination of lease/ employment.

     
    Social Media: Social media is encouraged as a source for marketing yourself. However, posting or sharing content that is deemed as “client shaming” is strongly discouraged.

     

    Color Backbar/ Salon Scale: Providing the color backbar is a huge advantage for those wishing to use it. This service takes a task off your plate and helps those getting started from needing to investing thousands upfront on stock. This service is provided at an upcharge of the cost of goods, that upchage helps stock our backbar products, supplies, and other perks throught the year. Your Salon Scale total will be added to your booth rent draw on the first draw of the month. IF you would like a total prior to draw please ask.

     IF using this benefit it is expected and required to add your usage into your Salon Scale acct accurately and in real time. Failure to log use is considered theft.
