  • Swimmer’s Code-of-Conduct

  • Swimmers are expected to:

    • Do their BEST! And have FUN!
    • Know and follow the Wahoo swimming safety rules listed below at all times.
    • Know and follow the WLSC pool rules while at our pool and observe the rules of any pool we visit.
    • Always conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner.  Respect others and in return you’ll receive the respect you deserve.
    • Attend practice as often as possible.

    At practices:

    • Report to their assigned practice lane and be ready to swim at the practice start time.
    • Be prepared for practice. Swimmers are responsible for their own equipment (goggles, swimsuits, water bottles, etc.). Please make sure your name is on your swim equipment.
    • Follow directions attentively and actively participate in practices.
    • Not leave the practice area during a practice session without the permission of a coach.

    At swim meets:

    • Check in with the Coaching Staff upon arrival.
    • Stay in the team area for the entire meet except when swimming an event or visiting concessions, restroom, etc.
    •  Be aware of their scheduled events.
    •  Be ready for their events and report to the Clerk of Course at the designated time.
    • Do not leave a meet early without first informing the Coaches.
  • During meets, a parent volunteer may photograph your child.  These pictures are made available to team member families via Google Photos.

If you have concerns about your child being included in photographs, please reach out to the Swim Team Manager and they will communicate with the volunteer photographer.

Occassionally, the team may put together promotional materials.  Please indicate below whether or not you approve the use of your child's image in promotional materials.  This is purely optional, and will not impact whether your child is in photographs.

  • Promotional Materials Photography Release
  • Parent Obligations

  • More than most youth sports, swim meets require significant parental support. As a parent of a swimmer on the team, you have the following obligations:

    • Provide volunteer support for at least 3 dual meets
    • Ensure that swimmers are delivered to, and picked up from, practices and meets on time
    • Provide scheduling availability for swimmers by the appropriate deadlines (see 2026 West Laurel Wahoos Handbook)
