Calling all Queensland printmakers!
Hervey Bay Regional Gallery and the Maryborough Printmakers invite expressions of interest for Impressed V, the fifth edition of this celebrated biennial exhibition showcasing the vitality and breadth of printmaking practice across Queensland.
Selected work for Impressed will be on display at Hervey Bay Regional Gallery from Saturday 28 November 2026 to Sunday 21 February 2027.
Who can apply?
The Expression of Interest is:
- Free to enter
- Open to Queensland-based artists
- Open to artists working in any printmaking discipline or technique
We encourage artists to think broadly about what printmaking can be. Entries are not limited to works on paper and may incorporate:
- Sculpture
- Textiles
- Ceramics
- Artist books
- Video
- Natural or manufactured materials
- Mixed-media and expanded print practices
Artists may submit up to three works. There are no size restrictions for submitted works and submissions are not required to engage with a specific theme.

EOI Open: Wednesday 1 July 2026
EOI Close: Friday 14 August 2026
Artwork Delivery Deadline (selected artists): Friday 23 October 2026
Opening Event: Friday 27 November 2026, 5.30pm
Exhibition Dates: Saturday 28 November 2026 – Sunday 21 February 2027

- A short statment about the submitted artwork/s

Conditions of Entry
Please ensure you have read the following before submitting an application:
- Artwork must be the artist's original work and completed within the last two years.
- Selected works must be available for the full exhibition period.
- Artists are responsible for the transport and insurance of artworks to and from Hervey Bay Regional Gallery.
- Framed works must be fitted with two D-rings positioned in the upper third of the frame.
- A limited selection of plinths and exhibition frames may be available for use by artists at the discretion of HBRG.
- Hervey Bay Regional Gallery will not act as a sales agent for exhibited works. Purchase enquiries will be forwarded directly to the artist and/or their representing gallery.
