You’ll learn the fundamentals that make a strong photograph:
Subject Selection – Discover how to find meaningful, visually interesting moments in everyday environments
Understanding Light – Learn to work with natural light, from soft window light to bright outdoor conditions
Dynamic Composition – Use techniques like the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing to create more engaging photos
Participants will apply these skills during a guided downtown photo walk, exploring the area while experimenting with lighting, angles, and composition. The session also includes a step-by-step mobile editing demonstration using free apps like Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed, helping you enhance your images with confidence.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a clearer creative approach, improved technical skills, and a stronger understanding of how to capture and edit photos using just your phone.
Preparation:
Please download Adobe Lightroom Mobile and Snapseed prior to the workshop.
