  • *All applications will be reviewed with final decision of acceptance decided on by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce. If application is approved, a line-up number will be assigned and sent via email in June.

  • In consideration of the acceptance of this application: (a) each member of my organization participating in the 2026 Swedish Days Parade ("Parade") will comply with all Parade rules and Regulations; (b) I, for myself, for each member of my organization participating in the Parade, and for each personal representative, executor, administrator, heir, successor, and assign of mine or any of them, RELEASE AND DISCHARGE the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, the City of Geneva, the County of Kane, and all sponsors of Swedish Days 2026, and each of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, trustees, officials, members, employees, volunteers, agents, attorneys, successors, and assigns, all referred to as "releasees," from all liability for any injury, damages, death, property damage, or other loss in any way connected with participation in or travel to or from the Parade, whether caused by any of the releasees' negligence or any other acts or omissions; (c) my organization AGREES TO INDEMNIFY each of the releasees from any loss, liability, or damages which any of them may incur in any way connected with participation in or travel to or from the Parade by any member of my organization; and (d) each member of my organization ASSUMES FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR the risk of any injury, damage, death, property damage, or other loss in any way connected with his or her participation or travel to or from the Parade, whether caused by any of the releasees' negligence or any other acts or omissions. This paragraph is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted under Illinois law and if any portion of this paragraph is held invalid, the balance of this paragraph and the agreement will continue in full force and effect.

  • PARADE RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the parade and
    future participation.

  • 1. INSURANCE: For your own protection, each entry must be covered by adequate liability insurance.
  • 7. CANDY: If you choose to hand out candy you may. Please do so in a safe manner, while walking by crowds. DO NOT THROW FROM THE VEHICLE.
  • 2. PARADE OFFICIALS: Placement of the parade entries in the lineup is the responsibility of the on-site Parade Officials. Any disrespect may eliminate participation in future parades/events.
  • 8. VEHICLES: Cars or trucks must be decorated (exception: classic car clubs). Truck/cars with only signage WILL NOT be accepted.
  • 3. SIGNAGE: No philosophical, political or religious messages may be incorporated into the design or used on any entry in the parade without the written approval of Geneva Chamber of Commerce. Objectionable signs are subject to removal.
  • 9. WALKING UNITS: Walking units are limited to 50 walkers (exception: bands). All walking units must always maintain forward motion; no maneuvers should slow the parade or cause gaps.
  • 4. SECURITY: Security arrangements for the parade entries are the sole responsibility of the participant.
  • 10. VIP STAGE: Please stop and perform in front of the VIP's located on the stage on 3rd St. in front of the Kane County Courthouse.

  • 5. LINEUP TIME: All entries must be in their designated formation area at 11:30. Floats should be in place by 10:30 am. Step off is 12:30 pm.
  • 11. HONORARIUM: Tax I.D. # or S.S. # must be given for payment - delivered to unit at line-up.
  • 6. LINEUP ACCESS: Stevens and McKinley or Logan and Center. No entry at Anderson and Center. Please limit drop off to 15 minutes.
  • 12. PICTURES: Pictures taken during the parade may be used for promotional purposes by Geneva Chamber of Commerce.
  • 13. POLITICAL UNITS: The only political units allowed are county/ city governments. No election material
