    • By completing an application for a SportsAid place in the TCS London Marathon 2027, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Places are highly sought after, so please read the following carefully before signing.

       
      1. SportsAid has a limited number of guaranteed charity Golden Bond places. You can apply if you will run the London Marathon 2027 for SportsAid, and pledge to fundraise a declared amount of £2,500 or more to SportsAid by 26 June 2027.


      2. Your application will be subject to a selection process, so that SportsAid can ensure that their guaranteed charity places are allocated  appropriately (as determined by SportsAid) and subject to you accepting the Terms and Conditions herein.


      3. If your application is successful then you agree to pay a non-refundable £100 entry fee. If you cancel your SportsAid place for any reason, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the group fund that all 2027 London Marathon fundraising is allocated to. Please note the full cost of the TCS London Marathon place is £480. This is why we require an ambitious fundraising target and expect you to have met a minimum of £500 of the fundraising target by 26 January 2027.  Ballot place runners who choose to still run for SportsAid, do not have a specific fundraising target.

       
      4. If you are allocated a SportsAid charity place then you must agree to solely fundraise for the SportsAid Trust. If you set up an online fundraising page, 100% of your fundraising must go to the SportsAid Trust.


      5. All money raised from the 2027 London Marathon will be allocated to a group fund that will go towards SportsAid’s work in supporting the next generation of British athletes. 


      6. You agree to an interim fundraising deadline of £500. You pledge to raise £500 (excluding your entry fee and any Gift Aid), which should be paid in by 26 January 2027.  SportsAid reserves the right to withdraw your place if this interim deadline is not met. This is to cover the cost of the place if you have to pull out after the cut-off deadline applied by the London Marathon organisers, resulting in SportsAid being unable to refill your place.


      7. If your application is successful, SportsAid will notify you by email, and will explain how to pay your entry fee. You must pay your entry fee within 14 days of this notification; otherwise you will lose your guaranteed charity place to another applicant.


      8. If your application for a SportsAid guaranteed charity place is not immediately successful, SportsAid will notify you by email that you have been placed on SportsAid’s waiting list.


      9. Payment deadline for sponsorship is 26 June 2027. If you need more time to collect sponsorship, please let SportsAid know in advance of this date. All charities inform the London Marathon organisers if someone does not fulfil their fundraising target. SportsAid reserves the right to submit your name if you fail to raise the minimum amount. 


      10. Any monies received by SportsAid under the Gift Aid scheme (or any other charity tax scheme) do not count towards the total value of the sponsorship raised.

       

      11. If you decide not to take part in the London Marathon – or decide to participate for another charity – you must inform SportsAid immediately.

        

      12. All SportsAid charity place holders agree that images, audio and video taken on the day may be used by SportsAid to promote London Marathon places in the future.


      13. IMPORTANT: If you sustain a training injury please contact SportsAid immediately. It is important that you do not take part in the London Marathon unless you are completely fit to do so. Deferrals are decided on an individual basis. If SportsAid decides you may defer, you must agree to abide by all Terms and Conditions that SportsAid publishes for the subsequent event.

        

      14. SportsAid has license to change fundraising targets from year to year. If this affects you we will notify you in due course.
