Please note:
Nominations are for volunteers who have been active WITHIN the last year, who volunteer in Racine County, are not paid for their service, and whose service is relevant to the category they are nominated. Volunteer nominations are only counted once per person. It is not a popularity contest, so simply voting many times for one person will not guarantee a win. The depth of their volunteerism and relevance to the rubrics amongst other considerations is what counts and the committee will choose the winners for the year.

Nomination
Nominee MUST have all requirements: Must be a current volunteer (have volunteered in 2025-2026), must volunteer IN Racine County (does not have to reside here), must be relevant to the categories offered, and in order to win we must be able to verify this information and be able to contact the winner. If we cannot establish contact with potential winner, we will have to choose another. The Volunteer Center committee chooses winners based on available nominations and relevance to category. It does help to have multiple references or nominations, but winner is determined by a select group and there is a rubrics for choosing winners.

*Senior - Outstanding Senior 55+ Volunteer
*Community Empowerment - Fostering positive, inclusive community development through volunteerism. Individual only.
*Health/Human Services - Helps the community by volunteering in health/medical services arena.
*Veteran Support - Outstanding Veteran volunteer or volunteer involved in service to veterans
*State Farm Good Neighbor - Helps to improve the well-being of those who live/work around them
*Partner/Advocate - Provides space for volunteer opportunities or partners with volunteer organizations to help support their mission. Individual or Organization/Business.
*Volunteer Leader - Directly supervise volunteer opportunities, while exemplifying leadership qualities.
Marilynn Pelky Lifetime of Service Award - Outstanding lifetime achievement of service to the community (must have served 10+ years in Racine County).
