  • The Canvas Collective is a community development project that harnesses the power of collective artmaking to inspire strength, connection, and well-being within our community. This project aims to strengthen our community and empower individuals to express themselves creatively.

    The Canvas Collective is a free opportunity for local creatives. These workshops will be led by art professionals and will culminate in a self-curated exhibition. You do not need to be a professional or working artist to engage in these workshops. All workshops are 18+.

    Register by May 1st 2026

    Workshops will take place at the Sunset Building, 11811 S. Sunset Drive
    Olathe, KS 66061 on:

    • Monday, 4 May 1:30-4:30
    • Wed, 20 May 1:30-4:30
    • Thurs, 4 June 1:30-4:30
    • Fri, 12 June 1:30-4:30

    The Jury Process will take place June 12th during the workshop. The exhibition is self curated.  You must be present to select your work.

    • Selected works will be reviewed by the Arts Council and Aging and Human Services.
    • All work displayed in the exhibiton must be created during the workshop(s).

    By registering, you are registering for all four (4) workshops.  You do not need to register more than once for different days.  We understand that you may not be able to make every one, but this is a single continuous project. 

    You must be able to attend at least two (2) workshops to be elligible for the exhibition.

    Gallery Guidelines:  Artist should keep in mind that the exhibition space will be in 
    public facility available to all ages; all exhibited work must be appropriate (i.e. lacking violent imagery, imagery of a sexual nature, explicit language, etc).  The Arts Council and AHS will have the final say on displayed content.

    Exhibition details are being finalized. We will share more details during the woarkshops.
