We are excited to invite you to apply for leadership positions within the LMSA Specialty Sections! These roles offer a unique opportunity to shape mentorship, programming, and national initiatives within your chosen specialty while working alongside passionate peers and leaders across LMSA.
Positions available:
Specialty Section Vice-Chair committee
- Assist with mentor recruitment, engagement, and community moderation (e.g., Discord)
- Help manage communications, including social media, listservs, and event documentation
- Help review the career compasses biannually
Specialty Section Specific Committee Member (19 specialties)
- Carry out assigned tasks and responsibilities, ensuring accountability and timely completion of projects
- Attend meetings if necessary, including Specialty Section meetings and other national meetings as assigned
- If applicable contribute to planning and implementation of LMSA National Conference programming
- Assist in mentor–mentee pairing and ongoing engagement within the LMSA Mentorship Program for the Specialty Section
- Help maintain and update the Specialty Section listserv and career compass
- If applicable support partnership initiatives and help maintain relationships with external organizations
Specialty Section Resident Chair application *
- Plan and execute at least event a year targeted to residents and fellows within the Specialty Section
- Assist with LMSA National Conference programming
- Collaborate with faculty advisors and committee members to expand and strengthen the specialty section nationally
*Please note to be elegible for a resident Chair position you must be at least a PGY2 for the 2026-2027 academic year
