NAGC26 Lesson Roundtables Call for Proposals
  • NAGC26 Lesson Roundtables Call for Proposals

Thank you for your interest in presenting at the NAGC26 Lesson Roundtables session! Please read through the information below before submitting your proposal.
  • The NAGC26 Lesson Roundtables will provide a forum for teachers to share strategies and approaches they have found effective in supporting advanced learning. Presentations should provide a brief snapshot of the student learning experience through active engagement of attendees. Presenters are asked to focus on practical lessons and takeaways that can be used in the gifted classroom or in general education classrooms with gifted, advanced, and high-potential learners. The sessions are brief, so we encourage using an activity to highlight key features of a lesson and providing additional information through a handout or link.

All lesson presentations will be 12 minutes, with presentations repeating during the session as attendees move from one roundtable (10 seats) to another. Presenters can expect to give the same presentation up to 4 times in one session, with a new group of attendees at their table each time.

    Additional guidelines:

    • There should be only one presenter for each submission. This will allow maximum attendee participation, because roundtables are limited based on number of seats.
    • Presenters may submit a maximum of two lesson proposals.
    • Presenters must work directly with PreK-12 students as part of your professional role.
    • Lessons should reflect alignment with evidence-supported practice in the field. In the proposal form, you will be asked to comment briefly on the underlying model/evidence supporting the work and/or to demonstrate alignment with the NAGC PreK-12 Programming Standards.
    • Lessons should focus on advanced learning opportunities for students.
    • Lesson presentations should not duplicate content being shared in other accepted proposals elsewhere in the convention.
    • Presenters will be asked to upload a handout or copy of the lesson to the NAGC26 app. Presenters are encouraged also to bring sample materials and/or student artifacts to support the lesson demonstration.
    • Presentations should focus on presenter-developed instructional materials or reflect fair use and adaptations of existing materials. If you are sharing your experiences with or adaptations of published materials, be sure to focus on how you have used/adapted them. Do not share copyrighted material on the NAGC26 app without publisher permission.
    • Presenters should bring their own materials, manipulatives, or devices to share lesson details with participants. Note that presenters will not have access to a projector or screen for larger-scale display.
