    Thank you for your interest in volunteering to bring Storytime Picnic to life on Saturday, June 6th at the Burlington City Waterfront Promenade from 1:00pm to 4:00pm (Pre-K to 5th).

    Storytime Picnic is a community-centered literacy experience designed to bring families, educators, and community partners together to spark a love of reading in young children. Through interactive storytelling, book access, and joyful learning spaces, Storytime Picnic transforms literacy into a shared, engaging, and transformative community experience.

    This is more than an event—it’s a movement to close reading gaps and strengthen communities.

    The day will feature onstage storytelling, read alouds, information/resource tables, author meet and greet/ book vendor, games & activities, book distribution, food trucks a snack stand and more!

  • VOLUNTEER DESCRIPTIONS

    1) Core Team (High Involvement) -Weekly Wednesday Meeting on Zoom @ 6:30pm
    Helps drive decisions and owns pieces of the plan
    Lead committees and help with major tasks such as fundraising and marketing


    2) Contributors (Moderate Involvement)- Bi-weekly meetings Mondays on Zoom @ 6:30pm

    Join working groups or specific tasks
    Attend occasional meetings 
    Provide input, feedback, or help execute pieces

    Assist with raising money and getting the the word out


    3) Advisors (Low Involvement)  
    1-2 meetings required prior to event
    Provide feedback asynchronously (email, surveys, quick calls)

    4) DAY OF EVENT STAFF! 

    Show up for set up , event support, clean up (SEE BELOW)


    Great for those with expereince in art/grpahics, media, marketing, event logisitcs, fundraising, education etc.
