• Mini Pig- New Client Intake Form & Agreement

Please review the agreement and instructions, then complete the intake information about you and your pig before signing and submitting. This is Homestead Helpers Hoof Care Mini Pig- New Client Intake Form & Agreement. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRELY BEFORE BOOKING! Dear Mini Pig Clients, We ask that you read the following carefully to ensure a safe and successful visit for your pig. Our priority is comfort, safety, and effective hoof care. Before We Arrive: No Food for at least 3 Hours Prior: Please withhold all food (grass, hay, pellets, treats, etc.) for at least 3 hours before our visit. This is essential when using the American Mini Pig Association “Flip-a-Pig” Method. Any food in the stomach may be vomited or inhaled, creating a choking hazard. Treats can be given afterward as a positive reward once trimming is complete. Containment: Please have your pig secured in a small, clean area before our arrival. Indoors: small rooms or hallways work best. Outdoors: a dry, enclosed stall. We cannot chase pigs around homes, barns, or pastures. Work Area: The area must be safe, dry, flat, and free of clutter, mud, ice, manure, blankets, or other pets. The Flip Method: We use the AMPA-approved “Flip the Pig” method, taught by veterinarians and widely recognized as the safest, most effective approach. Pigs are prey animals and may squeal, grunt, or “protest” dramatically, but the method itself is not harmful. Owners are encouraged not to intervene during the process, as this can compromise safety and effectiveness. You’re welcome to watch, but please give space until trimming is finished. Special Considerations: Multiple Animals: Please separate other animals from the work area for safety and efficiency. Overgrown Hooves: Severe cases may require multiple visits to fully correct. We trim to tolerance, aiming for functional balance rather than perfection in a single session. Weather: In hot weather, provide a shaded, ventilated space. In cold/wet weather, prepare a clean, dry, draft-free area. Payments & Policies: Farm Visit Fee: $75 (+5% processing fee) is due at the submition of this form - via our “Pay a Bill” page on HomesteadHelpersPA.com. This secures your appointment and is non-refundable Cancellations: No refunds for farm visit fees. Please see our "Book A Visit" Page for our Cancellation/Reschedule Policies. Weather Rescheduling: If severe weather threatens travel or safety, we will contact you to reschedule. Photography: We document before-and-after photos for every client file. Photos may be shared on our social media or website for educational purposes, unless you request otherwise. Aggressive or Dangerous Animals: If your pig is aggressive, you must inform us beforehand. We reserve the right to refuse or stop services if safety is at risk. Aggressive charging , biting, etc.... are considered safety risks. Health & Medical Notes: Owners must ensure pigs are healthy enough for trimming. Services may reveal or aggravate hidden conditions, particularly in seniors or special-needs pigs. Please alert us of any concerns beforehand (limping, dragging limbs, broken hooves, etc.). We are not veterinarians. We cannot diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical conditions. If veterinary care is needed, we will advise you to consult your veterinarian. We may refuse to trim any animal that requires veterinary medical attention. Assumption of Risk: Farrier services involve sharp tools and animal handling. Scrapes, cuts, or stress-related incidents may occur despite best practices. By booking, you accept responsibility for any risks, injuries, or veterinary needs arising during or after service, and release Homestead Helpers LLC from claims of negligence. By completing this form and booking, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these policies.
