By registering for and participating in this Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Voluntary Participation
I understand that my participation in this training is voluntary. I choose to participate of my own free will.
2. Nature of the Training
I understand that Mental Health First Aid is an educational course designed to provide information, tools, and strategies to help recognize and respond to mental health challenges and crises.
This training may include discussions of sensitive topics, including but not limited to:
* Mental health conditions
* Crisis situations
* Substance use
* Suicide and self-harm
I acknowledge that these topics may be emotionally challenging.
3. Not Medical or Clinical Care
I understand that this training is not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment, and participation does not establish a therapist-client or provider-patient relationship with instructors or organizers.
I understand that instructors are acting in an educational role only.
4. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation may involve emotional or psychological stress. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including any emotional discomfort that may arise.
I understand that I am responsible for monitoring my own well-being during the training and may step away at any time if needed.
5. Personal Responsibility
I agree to take responsibility for my own mental and emotional well-being during and after the training. I understand that if I need additional support, it is my responsibility to seek appropriate professional help.
6. Confidentiality & Respect
I agree to help maintain a respectful and supportive learning environment. I will:
Respect the privacy of other participants
Not share personal stories or identifying details shared during the training outside of the course
I understand that while confidentiality is encouraged, it cannot be guaranteed in a group setting.
7. Release of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Gallatin Community Gun Club (GCGC), its instructors, volunteers, officers, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation in this training.
8. Emergency Resources
I understand that this training does not replace emergency services. If I or someone else is in immediate danger, I will call 911 or contact appropriate emergency services.
I am aware of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) for immediate support.
