Application Form - Pre-sessions 53
  • Pre-sessions 53: Application Form

  • The Pre-sessions 53 will take place from 25 to 28 August 2026 in person, in Geneva. The Pre-session for each State under Review (SuR) will last between 30 and 55 minutes. The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) will be given five minutes to speak. After these presentations, Permanent Missions will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the session. All Permanent Missions will be invited, including the State under Review. Please note that these meetings are public.

All panellists are required to participate in UPR training sessions: three online trainings approximately one month in advance of the Pre-sessions, as well as one seminar on Monday 24 August 2026 in Geneva.

The application process is open unti 10 May 2026. Only complete applications received by 23:59 Geneva time on 10 May 2026 will be considered. Kindly note that due to time restraints, not all applicants can be chosen to speak on the panel.

Regarding the Pre-session on the United States of America, only organisations that have submitted an update to their 2025 UPR report to the OHCHR will be considered in the selection process. The update must be included as a mandatory attachment to the application form.

Please note that the selection process is based on the information provided in the application form. Thus, UPR Info reserves the right, at any time, to refuse your participation in case of changes (e.g. speaker name, organisation name etc.).
