    ABOUT the POSITION:  Part-Time/Full-Time Night Baker

    PLEASE NOTE: We are looking for team members who want to grow with us long-term. This is not a seasonal opportunity.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    The Night Time Baker will primarily be responsible for the night/early morning shift of bread baking on bake days. They will also learn the responsibilities of the Bakery Assistant position in order to assist in daily operations of the bakery while waiting on bread to bake or after baking is complete. They will be responsible to ensure that all products are prepared in accordance with company standards. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation/measuring of ingredients, mixing ingredients into mixer, weighing and shaping dough, labeling bags, packaging bread, organizing orders, cleaning. 

    JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:
    • Baking during the night/early morning shift on bake days.
    • Assist baker and other assistants in the preparation of food for sale.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager; job description/duties may be modified at any time and/or changed to meet business needs.
    • Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the small bakery area, including but not limited to: keeping hair pinned back, up off of neck, and covered, good hygiene, no jewelry above the waist, frequent hand washing, no artificial nails or chipping nail polish, no strong perfumes/body spray, wearing gloves when handling prepared food, cleaning countertops, shelves, mixer, etc., vacuuming, sweeping, occasional mopping.

    • Must be a flexible/dependable worker
    • Able to perform basic math functions
    • General understanding/reading of spreadsheets helpful
    • Possession of good judgment is essential
    • This position requires frequent walking, standing, reaching and light lifting.

    HOURS:
    Number of hours are approximately 18-40 hours per week. Specifics are somewhat flexible and will be discussed during the interview process. Days required to work are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. (Schedule may be modified at any time to meet business needs.) Shifts will typically begin at 2:00 AM on Tuesdays and 3:00 AM on Wednesday-Friday and shifts will end depending on the number of hours desired, (ending as late as 11:30 AM, with the earliest ending time being approximately 8:00 AM), depending on business needs, the particular day and particular events.


    HOLIDAYS:
    The bakery closes on Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday) and for Christmas Eve through Jan.2. The bakery is typically in operation all other holidays.
