    Summer Program Volunteer open to alumni only.
    Unpaid; two positions available in Westchester and two in Manhattan.
    Program will run from July 6-31 from 9 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. 

    The Windward Summer Program is a four-week instructional program for students within and outside the Windward community. The Summer Program is a group learning model that is designed for children in grades 2-9 who possess average to superior intelligence and are not meeting their academic potential. The multisensory curriculum is designed for students who benefit from direct instruction, small class sizes, and the review, reinforcement, and repetition of skills. Volunteers for the summer program will participate in classroom activities and instruction alongside our Windward faculty members. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in lesson instruction, classroom management, and relationship building with students. Ideal for high school juniors and seniors and college students interested in pursuing a career in teaching or special education.  

    Advancement Volunteer open to alumni and non-alumni applicants.
    Unpaid; 1 position available.  
    Program will run July 6-31 for either afternoons (if complementing the summer program) or full day.

    Volunteers working in the Advancement Office will work alongside Windward’s Development, Alumni Relations and Marketing and Communications teams. Volunteers will gain hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, alumni relations, internal and external communications, and social media strategy. Ideal for high school juniors and seniors and college students majoring in business, development, or marketing and communications.

    APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS


    Applicants for all programs must be entering 11th or 12th grade or college aged.  

    Applicants for the Summer Program Volunteer position must have an interest in education. 

    Applicants must be available to participate in the full four-week program and be able to attend the pre-program orientation in June. If the applicant is still in school during orientation, exceptions can be made, and orientation instruction can be supplemented with an independent meeting with program directors.  

    Applications must be submitted by May 1, 2026. Applicants must complete the form below and attach an updated resume and cover letter. Applications will then be reviewed, and qualified applicants will be invited for a virtual interview.  

    All applicants must go through standard HR background screenings and processing upon acceptance.
