Financial Counselling Victoria invites submissions of abstracts for presentation at the FCVic Conference, to be held at the Pullman Albert Park, Melbourne, from 7-9 October 2026.
We welcome abstracts from anyone with an interest in financial counselling and consumer issues, including financial counsellors, researchers, industry, regulators, community workers, policy makers, students, and other experts who are interested in sharing best practice, research findings, critical reflections or case studies.
Submissions should reflect the conference theme “In Pursuit”. This might mean:
- Through a consumer lens – in pursuit of financial security, fair treatment, accessible services, and positive outcomes for people experiencing hardship.
- Through a practice lens – in pursuit of innovative approaches, stronger client advocacy, culturally safe practice, collaboration, and improved support outcomes.
- Through a policy lens – in pursuit of fairer systems, effective regulation, evidence-based reform, and policies that reduce financial exclusion and harm.
- Through an industry lens – in pursuit of responsible lending, customer-centred design, stronger partnerships, and better responses to vulnerability.
We encourage submissions that are aligned to FCVic’s Advocacy Priorities. All submissions should address the judging criteria, including how the presentation connects with the conference theme, and your goals for what participants will learn or gain from the presentation.
Successful applicants will generally be offered a session to the full plenary audience (between 10 to 30 minutes) or may be considered for a small breakout session if relevant as a CPD training session for financial counsellors (90 minutes).
