Competition Information

All competition information can be found on the TTGVA website. TTGVA-specific rules are available in the Bylaws. Summary information is below.

 

Matches

Match duration is 50 minutes with a 10 minute warm up. No substitutions or time-outs are permitted during the last 5 minutes of a match. Continuous substitutions are allowed in C & D grades.

All new players must be registered. Registration is available online for free.

Uniforms

All new team players must be in team uniform for their fourth match onwards. Uniforms are to be of the same primary colour and style, with a number.

 

Match Fees

Match fees are currently $60 (plus card processing fees). 

Fees can be paid at any time in-person with cash or card, however, teams which incur debt and do not clear said debt before their next match will incur a late payment fee.

 

Sportsmanship

It is the responsibility of the captain to ensure good sportsmanship and conduct of his/her players on and off the court. Only the team captain may approach the Referee to ask for an explanation on the application or interpretation of the rules. They may not question the referees decision, only the basis upon which it was made. The referee is able to sanction and warn players for misconduct and delay.

 

Fines and Forfeits

A team forfeiting, whereby no match is played, is charged a 100% penalty, with the opposition paying nothing. However if a scratch match is played the team forfeiting is charged a 50% penalty with the opposition receiving a 50% reduction.

Premiership points awarded as for a forfeit may be imposed upon a team playing a player from another team in the same named division during the same season.

Monday competitions are played at the Pedare College Gym with grades from D to B from 7:15 to 10:15 pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday competitions are played at the Golden Grove Recreation Centre with grades from D to A from 6:15 to 11:15 pm.

Tea Tree Gully Volleyball Association reserves the right to make any final decisions regarding players and teams grading and acceptance. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate player selections, the Association also reserves the right to make any alterations as deemed necessary to balance the competition.

By signing this form the Team Captain accepts that they are responsible to ensure that all of their players are fully aware of the Tea Tree Gully Volleyball Association Bylaws and that they agree to be bound by them.  

The Team Captain also agrees to accept responsibility for all debts incurred by their team and will ensure that team fees are collected and paid to the Arena Manager before the start of each game.

The TTGVA scoreboards allow for a small custom team banner. This is entirely optional. If no banner is uploaded, the scoreboards will show the team name.

The banner should follow these guidelines:

• Minimum 5:2 aspect ration, but wider (6:2) is preferred. See template below.
• High contract with not too much detail. The scoreboards do not have a lot of resolution allocated for the banner.
• Visible from a fair distance away and able to easily identify the team (team name graphics are ideal).

This nomination cannot be processed unless signed by the Team Captain and accompanied by the correct nomination fee.
