  • Letter to Your Future Moroccan Exchange Partner and Host Family

Imagine it is the end of the school year and you have just been matched with a Moroccan exchange student and host family. If you are selected as a Youth Ambassador, this letter, along with the photos of yourself and your family attached to this application, will be emailed to your Moroccan match before the exchange program begins. It will be their first introduction to you.

How you answer this section will be evaluated as part of your application process. Have fun with it, but also take it seriously.

In 3–5 paragraphs, write a friendly letter introducing yourself. Be sure to include the age and grade you will be in by May of next year. Tell your Moroccan exchange partner about:

    • Yourself and your personality
    • Your family members
    • Any pets you have
    • Your hobbies, sports, clubs, and extracurricular activities
    • Your favorite subjects in school
    • Things you enjoy doing with friends and family
    • What you are most excited to share with your Moroccan guest during their visit to Utah

Write as if you are speaking directly to your future Moroccan friend. Help them get to know the real you. Be positive, welcoming, and thoughtful. Your goal is to make your exchange partner excited to meet you and your family.
