The following questions and topics serve as prompts to help you prepare your statement. 

• What exactly are your financial barriers?
• What will this scholarship help you with?
• How will this scholarship help you financially to achieve your goals?
• What financial barriers do you know you are going to face in the near future?
• What would winning this scholarship mean to you?
• Why is this scholarship important for you to attend college?
• Topics covered in the statement may include your current income, family support, employment status, and specific challenges, such as job loss, medical expenses, or being a first-generation student.

By signing below, I acknowledge that if I accept the Marsh McLennan Scholarship, I agree to participate in reasonable promotional activities, including but not limited to taking photographs, participating in interviews, and/or providing testimonials, to be used for publicity purposes across any and all media.

I further acknowledge that if awarded, scholarship funds are applied directly to the student’s outstanding balance with the college. Funds are credited to the student’s account and reduce the amount owed; any remaining balance after the scholarship is applied remains the responsibility of the student. Scholarship funds are not issued directly to the student and are not eligible for refund.
