  • First a massive thank you to all our amazing referees that supported the Suncoast Spinners T26 event. It was a huge 3 days and we couldn’t do it without your support. So once again Thank You.

    Registration to attend the Suncoast Spinners wheelchair basketball tournament at Caloundra Indoor Stadium on January 15, 16 & 17, 2027 are now open. 

    Suncoast Spinners appreciates the commitment from our referees and believe this is a key factor in our tournament’s success.

    Referee accommodation will be provided at the Ocean View Resort Caloundra. Catering will provided throughout the tournament from the stadium cafe.

    Complete this form and submit to register your  attendance at the Suncoast Spinners tournament in January 2027.

  • CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Officials code of behaviour
    The association abides by the Basketball Queensland Officials Code of
    Behaviour which states:
    a. modify rules and regulations to match the skill levels and needs of
    young people;
    b. compliment and encourage all participants;
    c. be consistent, objective and courteous when making decisions;
    d. condemn unsporting behaviour and promote respect for all
    opponents;
    e. emphasise the spirit of the game rather than the errors;
    f. encourage and promote rule changes which will make participation
    more enjoyable;
    g. be a good sport yourself. Actions speak louder than words;
    h. keep up to date with the latest trends in officiating and the principles
    of growth and development of young people;
    i. remember, you set an example. Your behaviour and comments
    should be positive and supportive;
    j. place the safety and welfare of the participants above all else;
    k. give all young people a ‘fair go’ regardless of their gender, ability,
    cultural background or religion;

    l. refrain from engaging in negative or destructive discussion or
    postings on social media about players, coaches, spectators,
    officials, administrators or other basketball participants, that may be
    viewed as abusive, harassing or offensive in nature.

  • Release and Permission to Use Photographic Images And Waiver of Liability

  •  During attendance at the Suncoast Spinners Tournament, members/players consent to the following;

    1. Use, publication and reproduction by SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC. its employees, officers, contractors or agents of photographs (‘Photographs’) and Video of me for the purposes of advertising, media publicity, general display or for any other club purposes in whole or in part, including on the clubs website or in social media, and as a consequence, Photographs/Video may be transferred outside Australia.

    2. agree that the use, publication or reproduction of the Photographs/video may occur by any medium, including but not limited to newspapers, magazines, brochures, television advertisements, promotional content and websites, including social media outlets.

    3. agree that the rights granted to SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC. under this release and waiver are perpetual and I hereby waive any interest that I may have in the copyright to the Photographs/video now or at any future time. I acknowledge that I do not expect to receive any payment or any other consideration in connection with the taking, use or storage of the Photographs/video.

    4. acknowledge and agree that any use of the Photographs/Video is, at the date of publication, made in good faith and is not intended to defame, offend, or bring my reputation into disrepute.

    5. release SUNCOAST SPINNERS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL INC., its employees, officers, contractors and agents from any liability (including consequential loss) connected with the publication, reproduction, or release of the Photographs/video.

  • DECLARATION AND INDEMNITY

  • 1. I, whose name appears on the nomination form in consideration of and as a condition of acceptance of my entry in the 2027 Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Tournamnet or associated event for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators hereby waive all and any claim, right of cause of action which I or they might otherwise have for or arising out of loss of my life or injury, damage or loss of any description whatsoever, which I may suffer or sustain in the course of or consequent upon my entry or participation in the above event.  I will abide by the Competition Rules governing this event.  

    2. This waiver, release and discharge shall be and operate separately in favour of all persons, corporations and bodies involved or otherwise engaged in the promoting or staging of the event and the servants agents; representatives and officers of any of them and includes, but is not limited to The Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Inc, Event Sponsors, Producers, Directors, Volunteers and Officials.  

    3. I attest that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for competition of the entered events. 

    4. I give permission for the free use of my name, voice or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising promotion or other account of this event or the Suncoast Spinners Wheelchair Basketball Inc’s Basketball Tournamnet. 

     5.  In the event of a force majeure the event will be cancelled and the Carnival Committee will determine if the event will be reschedule. 

     6. Safety precautions undertaken by qualified officials are a service to me and other competitors but are not a guarantee of safety.  I agree to abide by the conditions of the events.

     7. Personal injury insurance is not included in nomination fee. All participants should organise appropriate insurance relative to their sport and individual circumstances.

    8. All non-Queensland residents that use the Queensland Ambulance Service will be invoiced for the service. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure they are covered for this expense via their own state’s ambulance membership, private health insurance or travel insurance.
