    Booking & Admission Process – Tales of Tails Veterinary Drive In partnership with Rooikoppies Animal Hospital

    To participate in our upcoming veterinary drive, all clients are required to complete a mandatory e-booking through The Blue Collar Pet Shop Lenasia.

    Once your booking details have been submitted, please await a confirmation message from our administrative team. This message will confirm whether your booking has been successfully approved.

    If your booking is approved, you will be required to bring your pet to The Blue Collar Pet Shop Lenasia (28 Ivy Street) on the scheduled day of the veterinary drive. Please ensure that you bring your pet along with your booking reference number for admission.

    As part of this initiative, Tales of Tails, in collaboration with Rooikoppies Animal Hospital, will establish a satellite surgical unit on-site at The Blue Collar Pet Shop. All surgical procedures will be performed by Dr. K. Koetsee (BVSc) from Rooikoppies Animal Hospital.

    Following admission, your pet will be transferred to the surgical unit where the required procedure will be completed. After surgery, your pet will be placed in a monitored recovery ward located at the pet shop to ensure proper post-operative care.

    Once your pet has fully recovered and has been cleared for discharge, you will receive a notification confirming your collection time.

    Please Note:

    • No overnight stays are required.

    • All pets must be collected on the same day as their procedure.

    Carriers will be provided should you not have to transfer your pet from your car to the ward

  • How Does the Vaccine Drive work?

    Vaccination & Sterilization Process – Important Information

    • Submit your booking through our e-booking portal.
    • Join our mandatory WhatsApp group chat for all updates and communication.

    Sterilization Patients:
    All pets booked for sterilization must be dropped off at 06:00 AM sharp.

    Once all sterilizations are completed, we will notify everyone in the WhatsApp group when vaccinations are ready. (This is usually around 13:00*)

    Vaccination Process:
    • Please bring your pet in your vehicle.
    • Keep your pet inside your vehicle at all times.
    • Proceed to the admissions table at The Blue Collar Pet Shop Lenasia.
    • Complete payment and your pet will be placed in the queue.
    • When it is your turn, a vet will come directly to your vehicle to administer the vaccine and stamp your pet’s card.

    ✅ Once this is done, you are free to leave.

    Important: Please do not remove your pets from your vehicle at any point.

    Cats & Kittens: R550.00

    What time do I drop my pet off?

    Drop offs are between 6:00am and 6:30am. No drop offs accepted after 6:45am

    What time is collection of my Pet?

    Anytime after 1pm. Please keep an eye out on our whatsapp group chat for a notification regarding the official time on the day

    Does My Pet stay overnight?

    No Overnight stay needed

    What time is the vaccination Drive?

    After 1pm on the day of the drive

    Can I pay in advance or via EFT?

    Only Cash or Card on the day, upon admission

    Do I need to give medication?

    No. No food and water after 10pm on the day prior to surgery 

    Do I need to make a booking?

    Yes. Bookings are essential. No surgery without bookings

    What if bookings are full?

    What Documents are needed?

    Your pets vaccine card if you have one 

    What happens if I cannot collect my pet in the time frame provided on the group chat?
    Your pet will be transfered to The Blue Collar Cat Hotel, a member of The Blue Collar Group, subject to boarding rates and fees

    Do I bring my own pet carrier?

    Yes please do. If you do not own one, you may rent one from us at no charge to take your pet from your car to the ward on the day and from the ward to your car on collection.

                      I understand that there are inherent risks associated with the use of anaesthesia. If any complications arise after surgery, I will notify Tales of Tails immediately.Should my animal(s) be admitted to any other veterinary facility after the surgery, Tales of Tails, Rooikoppies Veterinary Clinic or any other veterinary practice used on the day, as well as The Blue Collar Pet Shop Lenasia, shall not be held liable for any accounts, medical costs, or related consequences.If my pet is in heat, I understand that an additional fee of up to R150 will be applicable. In the case of late-stage pregnancy, an additional charge of R200 for dogs and R100 for cats will apply.Any other conditions not listed above may result in additional charges. I understand that I will be informed by Tales of Tails in such cases.I, the undersigned and legal owner of the above-mentioned pet(s), acknowledge and accept all risks, including those associated with vaccine-preventable illnesses. All veterinary practices involved, as well as Tales of Tails and The Blue Collar Pet Shop Lenasia, will take all reasonable precautions to prevent the spread of disease. However, it is strongly recommended that all pets are fully vaccinated prior to being entrusted into their care.I hereby give my consent for Tales of Tails to transport my pet(s) to and from Rooikoppies Veterinary Clinic or any other veterinary facility they may choose to use.
