    Winneshiek County Emergency Management welcomes community organizations to request use of the Sun Titan L60 solar powered portable generator for temporary use at special events. The Sun Titan L60 generator includes 8 solar panels, lithium ion batteries, RV and regular 110v outlets, and an LED floodlight. The generator’s power duration depends on the electrical load of the appliance(s).

    Use is granted at the discretion of the Winneshiek County Emergency Manager based on generator availability & staff capacity.

    When using the calendar below, the available times are preset for 4-hour intervals. If your event requires less or more than 4-hours, select the most appropriate timeslot for your event.

    Few areas of note:

    • 1 week notice minimum requirement.
    • If your event is less than 4-hours in length, select the applicable 4-hour timeslot and include the actual timeframe in the "description of your event" box below.
    • If your event will run past 5 pm, include the end time information about your event in the "description of your event" box below.

  • Community Use Agreement

    Sun Titan L60 Solar Powered Portable Generator

    This Community Use Agreement (Agreement) is entered into between Winneshiek County Emergency Management (County) and:

    for temporary use of the Sun Tital L60 solar powered portable generator (Generator).

    1. Purpose

    Winneshiek County Emergency Management allows community organizations to request temporary use of the Sun Tital L60 Solar Powered Portable Generator for community events, emergency support, public service activities, and other approved uses.

    The Generator includes:

    • Eight (8) solar panels
    • Lithium-ion battery storage
    • RV and standard 110v electrical outlets
    • LED floodlights

    The Generator's power duration depends on the electrical load, and usage of connected appliances and equipment, and solar generation availability throughout use.

    2. Approval & Availability

    Use of the Generator is granted at the sole discrection of the Winneshiek County Emergency Manager and is subject to equipment availability, operational readiness, staff capacity, and weather and emergency response needs.

    The County reserves the right to deny, cancel, or terminate use at any time, including when emergency operations require the Generator's immediate return.

    3. Use Period

    • Approved use date/time shall be the start date/time of your event.
    • Approved return date/time shall be the end date/time of your event.

    The Organization agrees to return the Generator in the same condition as received, reasonable wear and tear excepted.

    4. Authorized Use

    The Organization agrees:

    • To use the Generator only for lawful and approved purposes
    • Not to modify, alter, or tamper with the Generator or its components
    • Not to overload electrical systems or connect unsafe equipment
    • To operate the Generator in accordance with any instructions provided by County staff
    • To ensure only responsible adults operate or supervise use of the Generator

    The Organization is responsible for securing the Generator during use and preventing theft, vandalism, or misuse.

    5. Liability & Indemnification

    The Organization assumes all responsibility for use of the Generator during the approved use period.

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Organization agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the County, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities arising from the Organization's use or possession of the Generator.

    The County is not responsible for:

    • Power interruptions or insufficient power supply
    • Damage to equipment connected to the Generator
    • Injuries or losses related to operation or use of the Generator

    6. Damage & Costs

    The Organization agrees to promptly report any damage, malfunction, or accident involving the Generator.

    The Organization may be held financially responsible for damage caused by negligence, misuse, unathorized modifications, or failure to follow operating instructions.

    7. Insurance

    The County may require proof of liability insurance prior to release of the Generator for certain events or uses.

    8. No Guarantee of Service

    The County does not guarantee uninterrupted electrical service, battery duration, or suitability for any specific application.

    9. Agreement

    By signing below, the parties acknowledge they have read and understand this Agreement and agree to its terms.
