The objective of the Clinton County Farm Bureau Foundation’s Veterinary Scholarship program is to provide scholarships to veterinary students who are specializing in the field of large animals and have completed their first year of veterinary school. The application below (and supporting documents) must be submitted to the Clinton County Farm Bureau Foundation by June 30, 2026.
The Foundation is offering a maximum of $5,000 per scholarship, with $10,000 total awarded per year. Example: if we have 1 or 2 qualifying recipients, they could each receive $5,000. If we had 4 qualifying recipients, they could each receive $2,500. Applicants can receive a scholarship for their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of veterinary school.
To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must:
- Have completed their 1st year of veterinary school specializing in large animals
- Be a Clinton County Farm Bureau member, spouse, or child (1-year minimum)
- Be enrolled in a qualifying veterinary school for the coming year
- Exhibit potential for successful completion of course study
- Be a resident of Illinois
- Not be a spouse, child, sibling, grandchild, son-in-law, or daughter-in-law of a Clinton County Farm Bureau Foundation Director or employee
The criteria for awarding the scholarship are as follows:
- Scholarship
- Academic performance and honors
- Rank in Class
- ACT/SAT Score
- Financial Need
- Evidence of self-help. How is the student contributing financially to his/her education?
- Character and personality
- Maturity
- Industriousness and motivation
- Intellectual interest
- Moral character
- Demonstrated leadership
Students may be asked to participate in an interview with the scholarship committee. Interviews will be scheduled after all applications are received.
Completed applications must be submitted on or before June 30, 2026.
