We are conducting research with teenagers in Hawai'i to inform a new TV teen drama series set in Hawai'i.

• Our producers, writers, and directors will refer to this research to keep the show feeling authentic and reflective of real life in Hawai'i.
• We are interested in topics like academic pressure, social dynamics, and slang terms.

• Your child will participate in a single recorded interview lasting approximately 60 minutes. They will be asked open-ended questions about their high school experience.
• The interview will be conducted by one of our producers and / or writers over Google Meet, a free video call platform.

• Yes. Your child may withdraw at any time.
• You may also withdraw your permission at any time.

Recordings and/or transcripts will never be published. They are solely to be used by producers, writers, and directors in the making of this show.

• This show is fictional, but informed by real experiences.
• Identifying details will be removed if specifics from research are used in the show.
• Important exception: If your child shares information that leads the interviewer to believe that they or someone else may be in immediate danger of being seriously harmed, the interviewer may contact you as the parent/guardian or, in cases of imminent danger, emergency services.
