It’s almost time to KICK OFF our 2026–2027 rodeo season! Welcome, and thank you for joining us for another wonderful year.

At the Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas, we are dedicated to fostering a love for rodeo in our youth and preparing them for a future in rodeo. We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization promoting family fun and good sportsmanship while teaching, learning, and participating in the sport of rodeo. At the Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas (KJRA), our board members are dedicated rodeo parents who have stepped up to help make our association a special place for kids. Their passion for rodeo and commitment to fostering a positive environment for youth is what drives our organization forward.

Together, they work tirelessly to plan events, support our young athletes, and ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive both in and out of the arena.

Partnerships & Events

• KJRA is partnering again with the WCRA Youth Division 
• All KJRA rodeos are WCRA approved
• Points are tracked through the WCRA website
• We will also host two Hooey Junior Patriot Qualifiers this season.

• Membership Application (You will need to upload a W-9 Form and birth certificate)
• Rodeo Dates
• Checks are not deposited until the Monday after rodeo
• NO call-in entries
• Monday call-in (6–9 PM) is for changes only

2026-2027 Rodeo Schedule

August 28-30, 2026

October 9-11, 2026

November 20-22, 2026

February 12-14, 2027

April 9-11, 2027

Finals May 7-8, 2027

The friday night of each regular season rodeo, KJRA will either have a barrel race hosted by Wild West Promotions or barrel/pole exhibitions.  

KJRA will also have a breakaway jackpot on Saturdays following the performance.

• I understand that all contestants must compete in 6 of the scheduled rodeos (not including Finals) to be eligible to compete at rodeo finals. Contestants must enter the Finals to be eligible for year-end awards.
• I understand that all contestants must sell a $150 Sponsorship by the November Rodeo.
• RODEO ENTRIES WILL BE DONE ONLINE. YOU CAN PAY ONLINE OR BRING A CHECK TO THE RODEO, HOWEVER IT MUST BE IN THE OFFICE PRIOR TO FIRST RUN.
• I understand that all contestants and/or parents must sign up on Sign Up Genius to work one spot during each rodeo weekend. There is an option of a buyout of $150 in lieu of completing the volunteer requirements.
• I understand that all contestants, parents or guardians are responsible for reading the rulebook each year, which is provided online.
• I understand that all contestants must wear sleeved shirts, jeans and boots while competing during the rodeo season. Finals is dress code (Cowboy hat or helmet, long sleeve button down shirt, jeans and boots).
• I understand that previous year's paperwork is not carried over and must be furnished with the new season.
• All horses entering the arena or event grounds must have proof of a negative Coggins (Equine Infectious Anemia) test dated within the past 12 months. A copy of the current negative Coggins must be available upon request. Horses without a valid negative Coggins will not be permitted on the grounds or in the arena.
• I understand all of the above mentioned requirements.

The contestant’s age as of August 1st of the current year defines the contestant’s age group.

We/I, the undersigned parents/guardians of above listed names, a Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas rodeo member, do hereby fully agree and consent to the participation of our/my child as a contestant in such rodeo’s. We/I do fully release Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas, the producers, and other persons, corporations, and organizations in any manner assisting the sponsorship and production of a Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas approved youth rodeo from any and all liability of injuries or disabilities of any kind or nature, whatsoever, su­ffered or inflicted to our child arising out of his/her participation in any such rodeo. We/I give Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas  permission to make public contestant event standings, dates, and times of all rodeo events, as well as contestants entered; as Kids Junior Rodeo Association of North Texas deems necessary including, but not limited to rodeo programs, schedules, publications, and the Internet. We/I execute this consent and release agreement with full knowledge of the risk inherent in such rodeos and admit that such risks are taken voluntarily by the contestant. By signing below, we/I also confirm we have read the current Rodeo Season Rulebook.
