Introduction
Use this form to apply to audition for the Young Artist Platform (YAP) for 2026-27. The programme is open to UK-based applicants aged 30 and under. Both solo guitarists and ensembles that include the guitar can apply.
Please make sure to read the details about the YAP on our website and make sure the information you provide is complete and correct.
You need to submit this form by 10:59pm on Friday 5 June 2026. The form will close at 11:00pm BST on 5/6/26.
Auditions will be held on Saturday 13th June between 9:30 am and 1:00 pm in Central London. If invited for audition you will hear by Tuesday 9th June at 6pm.
Before you start your application make sure you have the following items ready for upload (make sure you also have these items for other members in your ensemble if applying as an ensemble):
- A copy of identification (passport, driving license etc.) for proof of age
- A short CV/resume that includes details of your music education (conservatoire, music school etc.)
All personal details and contact information will be kept safe and will only be used to a) determine the eligibility of the applicant and b) contact the applicant about their application and the Young Artist Platform. If the applicant is successful, they authorise the use of their name, biography, images, and videos as part of publicity for the International Guitar Foundation.
Platform Information
IGF core festival dates for 2026-27 are as follows:
London Guitar Festival: 23-25 October 2026
Guitar Summit: 16-18 July 2027
IGF Guitar Festival: 10-13 August 2027
If you are successful you will need to agree to keep the above dates free, with engagement dates to be confirmed. Awardees also play concerts in at least three different locations where IGF works - these include north east, south west, London, Wales and Scotland. You will also participate in outreach work in schools where you will be accompanied by an IGF facilitator.
Depending on results there may be another set of auditions in Autumn 2026.
