MCMS 134th Award Nomination
Maricopa County Medical Society is excited to present the 2026 Medical School Excellence Award, honoring a medical school that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

This inaugural award, recognizing institutions that go above and beyond in cultivating knowledge, skills, professionalism, and leadership among future physicians, while fostering strong partnerships with the medical community to advance patient care and community health.

Nominations will be accepted from May 1st through August 1st. Each candidate is carefully assessed to determine the degree to which they fulfills each of the requirements according to the criteria established. Announcements will be made on August 30, 2026.

Award Criteria for the 2026 Medical School Excellence Award:
1. Provides innovative and rigorous educational programs that equip medical students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in clinical practice.
2. Promotes physical, emotional, and mental health among students through wellness initiatives, support programs, and resources that foster resilience, balance, and overall wellbeing.
3. Offers outstanding clinical experiences, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to diverse patient populations, ensuring students are prepared for real-world healthcare challenges.
4. Integrates community-based learning, service initiatives, and public health experiences into the curriculum to foster social responsibility and health equity.
5. Encourages students to develop leadership, communication, and ethical decision-making skills that contribute to the advancement of the medical profession.
6. Builds meaningful relationships with healthcare organizations, medical associations, and the broader community to enhance educational outcomes and prepare students to meet local and regional healthcare needs.
This award recognizes a medical school that exemplifies excellence through its mission, vision, and values, and demonstrates a profound and lasting impact on medical education, physician development, and the advancement of healthcare.
