Maricopa County Medical Society is excited to present the 2026 Hospital Excellence in Healthcare Award, honoring a hospital that demonstrates exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in delivering high-quality patient care, supporting physicians, and advancing community health.
This inaugural award recognizes hospitals that go above and beyond in fostering clinical and operational innovation, strengthening healthcare systems, promoting economic development, supporting Graduate Medical Education (GME), and enhancing overall community wellbeing, including the mental and emotional well-being of medical professionals.
The recipient demonstrates a deep and sustained commitment to improving health outcomes through meaningful collaboration with healthcare professionals, active support of physician-led initiatives, and ongoing contributions to advancing healthcare delivery, workforce sustainability, and access within the community. This includes strong engagement with community stakeholders and medical associations to align efforts, share resources, and maximize impact.
Nominations will be accepted from May 1st through August 1st. Each candidate is carefully assessed to determine the degree to which they fulfills each of the requirements according to the criteria established. Announcements will be made on August 30, 2026.
Award Criteria for the 2026 Hospital Excellence in Healthcare Award:
- Demonstrates outstanding quality of care, patient safety, and clinical outcomes, consistently setting high standards for healthcare delivery.
- Implements forward-thinking solutions, technologies, and programs that enhance care delivery, improve patient outcomes, and increase operational efficiency.
- Creates a supportive environment that empowers physicians, clinical teams, and staff by promoting collaboration, professional growth, wellbeing, and excellence in clinical practice, including attention to the mental and emotional health of healthcare professionals.
- Actively contributes to the education, training, and development (GME) of medical residents and fellows, strengthening the physician workforce and ensuring long-term community healthcare capacity.
- Works effectively with medical associations, community stakeholders, and partner organizations to align efforts, share resources, and maximize impact on community health outcomes.
This award recognizes a hospital that exemplifies exceptional leadership through its commitment, vision, and service, and that has made a profound and lasting impact on healthcare delivery, physician support, and community health outcomes.
