    This quick 3–5 minute screening helps highlight your child’s strengths and identify any areas where a little extra support may be helpful.

    🧠 A quick note: Every child develops at their own pace. This screening provides a general overview of skills typically seen at your child’s age—it’s not a diagnosis.

  • 💬 Speech & Language

  • Does your child understand and follow directions that include descriptive words (like ‘get the red ball’ or ‘put the cup on the table’)?*
  • Does your child understand pronouns like ‘he,’ ‘she,’ ‘him,’ or ‘them’? (For example, if you say ‘Give it to her,’ do they know who you mean?)*
  • Can your child tell you what everyday objects are used for? (For example, ‘What do you use a spoon for?’)*
  • Does your child produce a variety of 5-6 word sentences?*
  • Can your child answer questions about hypothetical events? (For example: what do you do if you feel sick?)*
  • Is your child’s speech understandable to familiar and unfamiliar people at least 75% of the time?*
  • Can your child correctly produce at least 8 of these sounds within words (p, m, t, k, g, f, sh, ch, s, l) ?*

  • Does your child respond to their name when called, even when they are busy or distracted?*
  • Can your child move from one activity to another without becoming upset?*
  • Does your child greet or respond to others appropriately (like saying ‘hi,’ waving, or making eye contact)?*
  • Does your child use toys and materials in different ways rather than repeating the same actions over and over?*
  • Does your child engage with other children during play (like talking, sharing, or taking turns)?*
  • Does your child eat a varied diet without limiting foods to only a few preferred items?*
  • Is your child comfortable with everyday sensations like grooming, water, and different textures?*
  • ✍️ Fine Motor Skills

  • Can your child draw a person with at least 2-4 body parts?*
  • When coloring or drawing, does your child use a tripod grasp?*

  • Can your child cut out a large 6 inch shape close to the lines, while opening and closing scissors independently?*
  • While looking at a ‘+’ or an ‘X’, can your child draw one that looks similar, with lines crossing?*
  • Can your child fasten large buttons?*
  • Can your child participate in structured table-based activities without frequently getting up?*
  • 🏃 Gross Motor

  • Can your child balance/stand on one foot for at least 5 seconds?*
  • Can your child jump forward at least 3 feet with both feet at the same time?*
  • Can your child hop on one foot 3x in a row?*
  • Can your child walk backwards in a straight line?*
  • Can your child throw a small ball overhand more than 5 feet?*
  • Can your child walk up and down stairs independently without using a handrail?*
  • Does your child walk on their tip toes often?*
  • Does your child seem clumsy or fall frequently?*
