    PROGRAM PURPOSE

The CIAF Ambassador Program positions respected First Nations creatives, storytellers, cultural custodians and digital voices as key advocates who amplify:

    • CIAF’s artistic and cultural leadership
    • Queensland First Nations artists, designers and art centres
    • The 2026 theme: Reclamation & Regeneration
    • The CIAF On Country VIP Program and collector engagement pathways
    • New commissioning and creative development projects
    • CIAF’s expanding digital, national and international footprint

The program is designed to strengthen CIAF’s visibility across Queensland and beyond, ensuring First Nations stories are shared with cultural authority, integrity and self-determination, while supporting growth in attendance, sales, philanthropy and long-term sector impact.

    Equity, Access & Regional Participation

CIAF is committed to ensuring equitable access to the Ambassador Program for First Nations practitioners across Queensland, including remote and regional communities.

One Ambassador position from Zenadth Kes/Torres Strait is supported through external funding from the Torres Strait Regional Authority (TSRA). This support enables the ambassador’s participation by covering additional travel and accommodation costs associated with geographic location.

All ambassadors receive the same base ambassador fee and participate as part of a single cohort. Additional travel and participation support for ambassadors from other remote or regional areas (including Cape York and the Gulf of Carpentaria) will be sought subject to funding availability.

CIAF recognises that geographic location presents different access barriers and is committed to addressing these through partnerships and targeted support where possible.
