• Action Safety & Marshal Training/ Capacitación Sobre Acciones de Seguridad y de Mariscales

    Join us for an Action Safety & Marshal Training at on May 31st. The training will be held at "545 Pawtucket ave, Pawtucket, RI, 02860".   • Training Description:

    This hands on, experiential training will prepare participants to build upon their own experience at actions and to co-create safety and security structures grounded in abolition, Black, Indigenous & Brown Feminisms and Holistic Safety and Security.

    Participants will leave with the following skills to support them on-the-ground at actions:

    1. Situational Awareness
    2. De-escalation & Protective Interventions
    3. Safety Team - Formations, Protocols & Operations
    4. Impact Munitions & their associated mitigation measures.

     

    Descripción de la capacitación: 

    Esta capacitación práctica y experiencial preparará a las participantes para aprovechar su propia experiencia en las acciones y para co-crear estructuras de seguridad basadas en el abolicionismo, los feminismos negros, indígenas y de personas de color, y la seguridad holística. 

    Los participantes saldrán con las siguientes habilidades que les servirán de apoyo en el terreno durante las acciones:

    1. Conciencia Situacional 

    2. Desescalada e Intervenciones de Protección

    3. Equipo de Seguridad: Formaciones, Protocolos y Operaciones 

    4. Municiones de Impacto y sus Medidas de Mitigación Asociadas. 



    A few notes to participants:

    • Dress comfortably and in clothing you don’t mind getting wet/damaged.
    • Snacks and lunch will be provided.

    Access info: Training will be held in an indoor space and is accessible for mobility devices via a ramp and long hallway. It is an office space and sound can be echo-y. The space has been used for art builds and may have a lingering scent from paint/other art supplies. There is one restroom at the Amor office that is wheelchair accessible but doesn’t have grab bars

  • COVID Protocols + Agreements

  • Training will be held in an indoor space and we ask that all participants agree to the following COVID Protocols:

    • If participants have access and are able, it is recommended that participants take a rapid test the day of the training. All trainers and support team will take a rapid test the day of the training.  If you do not have access but would like to test, please contact trainings@emergentfund.net as soon as possible to coordinate a test drop off. 

    • When indoors, participants, trainers, and support team will wear masks that cover your nose and mouth. Training team will provide participants with KN95s. Masks can significantly decrease the spread of COVID and other diseases. If someone asks you to wear a mask while engaging with them, even outdoors, please do so.

    • Training Team will make every effort to identify an outdoor location for participants to snack/eat lunch. If they are unable, we ask that participants place their masks back over their nose and mouths in between bites/sips.

    • Stay home when appropriate: If you have tested positive for COVID-19, are waiting for COVID-19 test results, have COVID-19 symptoms, feel sick or unwell, or have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the training.

    • If you feel unwell at any point during the training or the days following the training, it is not required but very much encouraged that you please notify trainings@emergentfund.net with subject line “Feeling Unwell” when you started feeling unwell and/or tested positive. We will never share your personal information with other participants, but we will send an email notifying them that a participant tested positive for COVID and recommended next moves.
