    Get ready for an electrifying experience, this is not just another competition… this is set to be one of the dopest, most high-energy dance competitions of the year. We are bringing together elite teams from across the region for a day full of intensity, creativity, and unforgettable performances. This floor is built for teams that are ready to perform with purpose, confidence, and undeniable presence.We are calling on highly energized teams who are not afraid to stand out, push the limits, and bring all the smoke. From powerful fieldshows to crowd-shaking stand battles, every category is designed to challenge your dancers, highlight your training, and elevate your program. This is more than trophies, it’s about reputation, execution, and making a statement. We want teams who come prepared, polished, and ready to leave everything on the floor.

  • Competition Categories

    Please note that your group must do all performances in each division. Example: If you are doing Mini Fieldshow, they must also do walkthrough. Failure to do both will eleminate that group from that category. 

    Be sure to follow the rules that are set below. Failure to follow the rules will cause your group to be eliminated from said category. Example: If walkthrough rules say walk the full perimiter of the floor before entering the middle, our judges expect for that to be done. 

     

    MINI DIVISION
    (Pre-K – 5th Grade)

    Mini Walkthrough w/ a Twist (3 MIN MAX)
    Twist Requirement: Must use New Orleans Bounce Music

    Instructions:
    The entire walkthrough must be performed to NOLA Bounce-themed music. Teams may remix or blend songs with a bounce beat, but the bounce sound must remain dominant throughout.

    This is not a traditional walkthrough, we are looking for routines that ignite the crowd and set the tone. Bring energy, personality, and creativity through transitions, formations, and performance quality. Set the bar. Don’t follow it.


    Mini Fieldshow (4 MIN MAX)
    A high-energy routine performed to band-style music that highlights formations, timing, and visual impact.


    JR./SR. DIVISION
    (6th – 12th Grade)

    Walkthrough w/ a Twist (3 MIN MAX)
    Twist Requirements: A Mini (Pre-K – 5th grade) must lead the walkthrough
    Music must be from the years 2000–2010

    Instructions:
    Select your most confident and dynamic mini to lead your line. The mini must guide the walkthrough for the majority of the performance and remain a focal point throughout.

    The mini is required to lead the walkthrough portion but is not required to participate in the center-floor dance segment (if included in your choreography).

    Music must reflect the 2000–2010 era, known for its high-energy and iconic sound. Be creative, be nostalgic, and most importantly, be impactful.


    Fieldshow (Band Music Only!) (5 MIN MAX)
    Bring a raw, powerful fieldshow that commands attention. Whether your style is HBCU-inspired, drill team-based, or theme-driven, we expect a performance that is clean, synchronized, and full of presence.

    • Band music only
    • No props
    • Strong emphasis on formations, precision, and showmanship
    • BATTLE CATEGORY
      (All Eligible Participants)

    Captain Battle Team captains go head-to-head, showcasing leadership, confidence, stage presence, and skill. Music provided after spot is secured!


    Parent + Coaches Stand Battle
    A fun, high-energy battle featuring parents and coaches, always a crowd favorite! Music provided after spot is secured!


    Open Stand Battle w/ a Twist
    An open division stand battle where creativity takes over. Music provided after spot is secured!

    Bring props, themes, and unexpected elements, this is your chance to stand out.
    No limits. No excuses. Just performance.


    JUDGING RULES BY CATEGORY

    Mini Walkthrough

    • Must travel the entire perimeter of the floor (all four corners)
    • Must fully incorporate the NOLA Bounce twist
    • Participants must be within Pre-K – 5th grade division
    • Props are allowed (NO fire, liquids, or confetti)
    • No coaching from the sidelines.   

    Mini Fieldshow

    • No props
    • Must use band music only
    • No coaching from the sidelines

    JR./SR. Walkthrough

    • A Mini must lead the majority of the walkthrough
    • Mini must not exceed 5th grade
    • Music must be from 2000–2010
    • Props are allowed (NO fire, liquids, or confetti)

    JR./SR. Fieldshow

    • Must use band music only
    • No props
    • No coaches or parents on the floor or sidelines

     

    UNDERSTANDING THE JUDGES’ SCORE SHEET

    Teams will be evaluated in the following areas:

    Choreography

    Creativity, transitions, formations, and overall structure of the routine

    Performance Quality

    Technique (pointed toes, arm placement, turns, leaps)
    Energy, confidence, and execution

    Musicality

    Music selection and how well it complements the choreography
    Timing, rhythm, and transitions

    Uniform & Presentation

    Overall appearance from head to toe
    Cleanliness, consistency, and visual impact

     

    AWARDS!!!!

    🏆 Overall Grand Champion
    The Overall Grand Champion will be awarded a 6 FT Trophy.

    Qualifications:

    Team must compete in all eligible categories within their division, meaning, your group will need to compete in BOTH divisions (mini and jr/sr) walkthrough and fieldshow. Battle categories is not included in the grand champ decision. This title represents the highest honor of the competition, reserved for the team that demonstrates excellence, consistency, and dominance across the board.

    Awards will be given in each division for both Walkthrough and Fieldshow categories.

    Each battle category winner will receive a Champion Banner:

    Parent + Coaches Stand Battle- OG CHAMPIONS
    Open Stand Battle w/ a Twist- STAND BATTLE CHAMPIONS
    These awards recognize standout performers who bring energy, personality, and competitive spirit to the floor.

    YOU MUST PAY THE DEPOSIT OF FULL AMOUNT TO SECURE YOUR SPOT!! WE WILL NOT HOLD ANY SPOTS!

    REGISTRATION FEE IS 140.00 WHICH $40.00 IS DUE TO ENLIST AND $100 WILL BE DUE BY JULY 15TH! FAILURE TO PAY YOUR BALANCE BY JULY 15TH WILL RESULT IN A LATE FEE OF $10 BEING ADDED.
