Correct action begins with correct understanding, both as individuals and groups. This summer, the Telos Academy invites Claremont alumni to deepen that understanding with four short courses under the theme “The Cardinal Virtues.”
The cardinal virtues of Courage, Prudence, Temperance, and Justice are foundational characteristics first identified by Plato, and have been examined by all serious political thinkers since. Each will be the subject of its own course.
Drawing on Aristotle’s Nichomachean Ethics, bolstered by carefully curated readings, these courses offer a concrete foundation for anyone looking to engage in serious political-moral reasoning.
