Class Details: This class is taught in two sessions, that build on each other. August 18th (session 1) and August 25th (session 2), each held at 2:00-4:00pm PT / 5:00-7:00pm ET. 4 hours instruction total.
Instructor: Tessa (she/they) is a midwife, herbalist, poet, and care worker. Tessa's work is based on the belief that all people should have access to personalized, comprehensive, holistic, and dignified care for the full spectrum of reproductive and generative experiences. They support clients along this spectrum: from becoming pregnant with at-home IUI, to pregnancy loss and release, to prenatal and postpartum care, out-of-hospital birth, and clinical herbal care focused on reproductive, menstrual, and hormonal concerns.
Class Description: This two-part class takes a deep dive into the Herbal Actions needed to produce an abortion or miscarriage. We'll discuss the practical and theoretical roles of cervical softeners, progesterone blockers, pelvic circulatory stimulants, and uterine contractors/oxytocics, as well as some supportive actions.
We'll discuss the interplay of herbal pharmacology, physiology, and energetics to provide a solid foundation for understanding the herbal actions needed to release a pregnancy.
