  • The IECRD offers several classroom presentations. All programs are adjusted to suit the grade level of the class and are accompanied with an age appropriate hands on activity. For more information email us at education@iercd.org

    1. Healthy Habitats - Students explore what animals need to survive and how healthy habitats support both wildlife and people. This program helps students identify the key elements of a healthy ecosystem and discover simple ways to create wildlife-friendly spaces at home or school.

    2. Know Your Water (Santa Ana Watershed) -  Students explore where their water comes from, how it is managed, and why conservation matters. Topics include the water cycle, the State Water Project, regional water sustainability.

    3. Explora-A-Flora - This program introduces students to California native plants and their importance to local ecosystems and wildlife. Students learn how plants grow, how photosynthesis works, and how invasive species impact our region. Each student plants locally sourced native seeds in a biodegradable pot to take home, helping increase biodiversity beyond the classroom.

    4. Gardening for Good - This program connects students to food systems, community gardens, and local farmers markets. Our hands on activity goes further than the classroom. Students have the opportunity to plant veggie seeds into a compostable planter and watch their veggies grow at home. The program encourages responsibility, observation, and community awareness.
