  • Please complete the following form to enter the 2026 NJBS Contests.  READ CAREFULLY as several rules have changed from past years.  

    This Form MUST BE COMPLETED by 5:00pm CST on Tuesday, June 9, 2026

    CONTEST REQUIREMENT 


    Every NJBS exhibitor MUST participate in at least three (3) contests in order to show in the National Junior Bred & Owned and National Junior Owned Shows. The following contests count towards reaching your minimum of three (3): 

    Computer Generated Brangus Advertisement Contest 

    IBA Illustration Contest 

    Judging Contest 

    Photography Contest 

    Quiz Bowl Contest aka “Brangus Jeopardy” 

    Roger and Janet Greuel Speech Contest 

    Salesmanship Contest 

    Sullivan Supply Showmanship Contest 

    Skill-A-Thon Contest 

    Team Fitting Contest 

    Job Interview Contest 

    Poster Contest 


     As an added incentive for contest participation, Sullivan Supply will be sponsoring added prizes.  For each contest that you enter, your name will be placed in a drawing to win one of three awesome prizes from Sullivan Supply! Participate in more contests to increase your chances of winning!  Drawing will be held at the banquet and you must be present to win.  Thank you Sullivan Supply for continuing to support the future of the Brangus breed! 


    HighPoint Awards
    To further encourage more participation in all NJBS Contests, the IJBBA Board of Directors is offering a $250 cash prize to each HighPoint Individual.  HighPoint Individuals are calculated by points awarded for ranking in all eligible activities.  Awards will be presented to the HighPoint Individual in each of the following divisions: Novice (Age 7-10), Junior (Age 11-13), Intermediate (Age 14-16), Senior (Age 17-21).  Points are awarded based on rank for individual contests. No participation points will be awarded in 2025. Points will be awarded to first through tenth place. For example, 1st place will be awarded 100 points, 2nd place awarded 90 points, 3rd place will be awarded 80 points, etc. In the case of a tie, the highest participated contest will be the tiebreaker.

    Disputes
    Any disputes that arise will be handled at the discretion of the IJBBA Board of Directors, IJBBA Advisory Committee, and/or IJBBA Director of Youth Activities.  Their verdict in such instances will be final.

  • Do you wish to enter the 2026 Team Fitting Contest? Team fitting teams are self selected and will need to be signed up during check-in at NJBS on June 22nd. One person from the team will be responsible for signing up the team. There will be two divisions - Novive/Junior division and the Int./Senior Division. Contestants will select their own teams and will consist of three (3) team members. Oldest team member determines the division. Contestants cannot move down divisions but can only move up. For example, a senior cannot compete on a novice/junior team but a novice/junior can compete on an Int./Senior team. Contestants can only compete on one team.   • Do you wish to enter the 2026 NJBS Brangus Jeopardy Contest? Teams are self selected and will need to be signed up during check-in at NJBS on June 22nd. One person from the team will be responsible for signing up the team to compete. Teams consisting of four individuals will compete. Teams are self-selected. Each team must include at least: one Novice (Age 7-10) or Junior (Age 11-13); one Intermediate (Age 14-16) or Senior (ages 17-21); and an Adult (age 22+). The fourth person on the team must be an active IJBBA Member (ages 7-21). Please view the rule book for full contest rules*
