    As a way to honor and thank our veterans for their service, the South Shore Fishing Association (SSFA) hosts this special event each year. The day includes fishing on Lake Superior, followed by a boat parade at Mattson Lower Harbor Park where veterans proudly showcase their catch. Boat captains play a vital role in making this event possible, and we are truly grateful for your involvement.

    Over the years, many meaningful connections have formed between veterans and captains. Due to the growing number of participants, we are no longer able to accommodate specific pairing requests. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility.

    Please be sure your co-captain knows we look forward to seeing you both at the Captain’s Dinner on Friday, July 31, at the Elks Lodge in Marquette. Additional details will be shared in mid-July.

    We also encourage you to connect with fellow captains and veterans during the lunch portion of the event.
