    Accommodation Grading Form: Hotel

  • ABOUT THIS ASSESSMENT

Welcome to the Access Assured™ grading process. This form is split into two parts.

Part 1 — Your establishment (complete once) The first section covers your parking, entry way, common areas, dining, services and amenities. Complete this once for your property, regardless of how many rooms you are submitting.

Part 2 — Each accessible room or unit (repeat per room) The second section covers the toilet, bathroom and bedroom for each individual room or unit. Once you submit a room, you will be asked whether you have another room to assess, if yes, you will be brought back to the start of Part 2 automatically with your establishment details already saved.

Each room receives its own individual grade of A, B or C. If your establishment has multiple accessible rooms, all grades will be displayed together on your Access Assured™ listing, giving guests a clear and honest picture of what is available at your property.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED

    • A measuring tape
    • A slope meter app on your phone (free apps are available for both iPhone and Android)
    • Approximately 45 minutes per room

    IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SANS STANDARDS

Some criteria in this form reference the SANS 10400-S:2025 Edition 4 standard. Your grading is not dependent on full SANS compliance. What matters is whether your property meets the Access Assured™ criteria range — for example, if you use a portable ramp and the slope falls within our criteria, you will receive your grade.

    WHY OUR GRADES MEAN SOMETHING

The Access Assured™ criteria were shaped by disabled travellers, occupational therapists, focus groups, SANS 10400-S:2025 and international best practice. Unlike a binary pass/fail compliance check, our grades reflect real-world usability — rewarding genuine effort from properties and giving guests an honest, reliable picture of what to expect.

    SAVING YOUR PROGRESS

You do not need a JotForm account to save your work. At any point while completing this form, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save and Continue Later". A unique link will be emailed to you — use this link to return to your form exactly where you left off.
