    Helmets will be checked at sign on.

    In the event of cancellation of the event for whatever reason, i.e. adverse weather or any other unforeseen reason outside the control of the Club, refunds will be provided but may take up to 28 days to process.

    A rider can only purchase ONE Special Event Upgrade Licence PER licencing season.


    For riders who wish to compete and earn points in the Championship classes and who hold a Club Licence, you can purchase a special event upgrade licence to allow entry into the championship, this licence must be applied and paid for with this entry form by the closing date.

    These events will run in accordance with MNZ MOMs (https://mnz.co.nz/manuals-policies/manuals-of-motorcycle-sport/off-road/) and these Supplementary Regulations;

    Riders are reminded of the following rules:

    23.3 - Rear driven sprocket
    23.3a A chain guard must be fitted in such a way to prevent trapping between the
    lower chain run and the final driven sprocket at the rear wheel.
    23.3b Either:
    i. The external side of the rear sprocket must be completely covered by a solid
    protective cover. No holes on the sprocket may remain visible. Or;
    ii. A solid disc rear sprocket be used.

    23.6 Identification Plates:
    Identification plates must:
    a) Must display 90% + of the riders grade colour on the front plate or head
    light fitting. No minimum size required.
    b) Riders name must be displayed on the plate or head light fitting using
    the correct coloured lettering. No minimum size required.

    1. I confirm that my machine complies with any technical rule(s) set out in the Manual of Motorcycle Sport and/or the Supplementary Regulations and that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, it is in safe working order and fit for competition.
    2. I take full responsibility in respect of the conditions as set down and also understand that a spot check may take place on my motorcycle before, during or after the event for safety and other reasons.

    3. I shall abide by any decision directed at me by the Steward of the Meeting. And understand that any competitor making a false declaration may be disqualified from the event.
    4. I have read the Supplementary Regulations for this Competition (where applicable) and agree to be bound by them and the Manual of Motorcycle Sport, the MNZ Constitution, and the MNZ Code of Conduct.
    5. I am aware that the sport of Motorcycle Competition might
    a) cause me injury; serious or otherwise
    b) damage my property.
    6. I wish to take part in the 2026 NZ South Island Championship Rounds 1 and 2 despite the above risks.
    7. Neither I, or anyone associated or connected with me will make any claim against you or your officers, employees or agents in respect of: a) any injury suffered by me; or b) any damage to any of my property regardless of how the injury or damage occurs.
    8. I will indemnify you against all claims, damages or losses (including costs) which you incur as the direct or indirect result of any injury to me or damage to my property.
    9. I am physically fit and there is no health or other reason why I should not participate in the sport of Motorcycle Competition.
    10. I am aware that this disclaimer will not affect any legal obligations you have to me which you cannot contract out of under NZ Law.
    11. I agree that in this disclaimer “my property” includes any property owned by me or in my possession or under my control.
    12. I agree that this disclaimer will be binding on my family, my heirs, my legal assigns and my administrators and executors.
    13. I accept that stripping and re-assembly for Technical Checks are at my cost.
    14. I consent to the details contained in this form being held by the Hosting / Administering Motorcycle Club for the purpose of the promotion and the benefit of the race meeting concerned, and Motorcycling in general. I acknowledge my right to access and correction of this information. The consent is given in accordance with the Privacy Act 1993.

    Event will run under the rules of the MNZ Manual of Motorcycle Sport (Off Road):

    Note a Championship license is needed to enter in Championship classes. A Club license holder is eligible to enter Support classes only. For all age restricted classes, the age of the competitor on the day of the first round in the Championship shall determine their age group for all rounds of that Championship. However, nothing in these rules shall allow a Mini competitor to ride before their 4th birthday or after their 15th birthday, and nothing in these rules shall allow a Junior competitor to ride before their 10th birthday or after their 17th birthday.

    New Zealand South Island Trials Championship – 2026 Format & Rules
    Eligible Classes:
    The competition must be contested across a minimum of three grades to uphold the legitimacy of the event.
    Typical classes will include all Championship grades, specifically:
    ●      T1 + T2(Expert)
    ●      T2
    ●      T3
    ●      T4
    ●      T5
    ●      Women
    ●      Junior


      
    Mini Trial        
    Mini trials bike riders are welcome to enter. These sections will cater for young riders on either Electric or petrol powered machines up to 80cc capacity. Riders on full sized bikes will be allowed to ride the mini classes for a score but will not receive championship points.
    Safety clothing is required to the following requirements. All riders must wear a long-sleeved shirt, long trousers, and an approved helmet. Either full motorcycle boots or a sturdy pair of gumboots covering their shins up to the knee are required for this event.
