  • Join us for VAY SoCal Summer Camp 2026.  This year we continue our journey in the book of James.  Our theme this year is "Living Faith" where we dive into James 2.

    Summer Camp is for high school students who just completed 9th-12th grades.  Please fill out this registration form to reserve your spot at camp.  Camp fee is $450 ($500 if late) and registration deadline is Tuesday, June 23rd.  Any submissions after the deadline will incur a late fee.  Availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

  • We are grateful to have Pastor Kent Hirano join us this year for Summer Camp.  He loves Jesus, his wife, Claire, and their daughter, Karis.  

    He serves as the college pastor of Imago Dei Church, in Bellflower, CA, where his passion is to see people fall in love with Jesus and grow in their relationship with him. He issues a challenge to any brave student who dares to face him in a three point shootout, ping pong match, or a game of speed chess. Introduce yourself! He would love to get to know you.

  • Note: Please DO NOT bring any electronic entertainment devices (this includes but are not limited to IPads, tablets of any kind, Nintendo Switch, handheld gaming devices, etc.), tobacco, vapes of any sort, drugs/drug paraphernalia, or alcohol.

    *Medication note: All prescription and non-prescription medication must be turned into the nurse's station upon check-in.

    All campers and staffers must be transported by bus departing at 2:00 pm.
    No individual student vehicles will be allowed on the campground.
    For staff, vehicles will only be allowed on campgrounds upon approval by Planning Staff.

  • We ask that individuals (whether staff members or high school students) with underlying health conditions refrain from joining the camp.  The camp is located at a higher elevation and that may be a cause for concern for those who have high-risk health issues.  We also ask that individuals who are sick not attend the camp.  There will be a health and wellness check for all participants during registration before heading to the campsite.

  • RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19

    We are following Verdugo Pines’ guidelines for participation at camp and they follow the guidelines and protocol given by the County of Los Angeles Public Health and the Governor of California.  These protocols include implementing social distancing measures, increased hand-washing and other hygienic practices, wearing of face coverings and frequent cleaning of common surfaces.  Despite such precautions, the risks associated with transmission of COVID-19 remain high.  The nature of many activities makes it difficult at times to observe all of the recommended precautions all of the time.  As a result of participation in the activities of the ministry and proximity to other participants, you or your child may be exposed to the risk of infection of communicable diseases, including COVID-19.  Symptoms associated with COVID-19 range from mild to severe, and include fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache, nausea, severe respiratory distress and death.  By signing this form and allowing your child to participate in this Vietnamese Alliance Youth event: camp at Verdugo Pines you voluntarily assume the risk associated with participation.
