Rules applicable to all visitors/entrants
1. The most up-to-date rules are on our website and supersede those in printed materials. Extraordinary decisions, changes and exceptions to the rules are at the discretion of the Judges and Directors and can be made at any time.
2. The Society/Directors/landowners will not be responsible for any loss or damage by accident or otherwise in the showground or approach thereto. It is a condition of entry to the showground that each visitor/entrant agrees to indemnify the promoters against any legal action from any such incident. Exhibitors’ equipment and effects are at owner’s risk. All vehicles must be parked as directed by Stewards. Towing within showground is at owner’s risk. All exhibits are shown at own risk.
3. Unacceptable behaviours outwith/within rings: ill-treatment an animal; irresponsible or dangerous behaviour/handling/riding; inappropriate/over-use of a whip; any behaviour which is not in accordance with the Rules or general etiquette.
4. All animals must be kept under proper control. If in the opinion of a Show Official, an animal is a danger, the owner/handler will be asked to remove it from the showfield and must do so immediately. No galloping/ cantering on the showground except in rings/on courses. Animals must not be left unattended while tied up.
5. Any complaints about the behaviour of a entrant/ visitor should be made to the Judge/Secretary/ Convener immediately; the entrant’s name/entry number must be known in order to investigate the complaint.
Rules applicable to all classes
1. Trophies remain the property of the Society and must be returned in good condition by the 16th April the following year. Trophies/prizes/rosettes are donated by the Society unless stated otherwise and must be collected and signed for within 1 month of the Show.
2. The Directors reserve the right to substitute Judges and cancel/merge/split classes. Judges’ decisions are final.
3. The Directors reserve the right to refuse entries. Fees will not be refunded unless the request is received at least 72 hours before show date. In the event of the show being cancelled, no refunds will be given.
3. All entrants should have their own insurance, including third party and personal accident cover.
4. All animals must be healthy, sound and in a satisfactory condition. Doctoring, blistering, bottling bulls or tampering of stock strictly prohibited.
5. Age restrictions for riders/animals are as at date of show unless stated otherwise.
6. Protests/objections must be made to the Judge/ Steward in the ring immediately and lodged in writing with the Secretary within 30 minutes of the conclusion of the class accompanied by a deposit of £20. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is notupheld. All questions of dispute will be referred to theStewards or if necessary to the appropriate Directors whose decision will be final.
7. A parade of all prize cattle and Clydesdale horses will be held at conclusion of judging and no stock may leave field before that time unless by permission of the Directors.
Health & Safety
The Organisers have taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all people and animals present. In order that these measures can be effective, everybody should take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and should obey the instructions of the Directors, Stewards and Officials.
GDPR
We have official Show photographers taking photographs for the schedule and marketing purposes*. Entrants’ details will be retained for show related correspondence until no longer required*.

DOG RULES
1. Entries must be submitted as per details on page 85.
2. The show is open to all dogs aged 6 months and over.
3. All dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.
4. Only undocked dogs and legally docked dogs may be entered.
5. Dogs must be healthy and fit to take part. Any dog showing signs of illness may be asked not to compete.
6. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs.
7. The judge’s decision is final.
8. This is a fun companion show, and classes will be judged on personality, overall impression, and enjoyment as well as appearance.
