Phases of Competition:
Personal Interview- Contestants will appear in front of a panel of 3 judges. Queen contestants will interview for 5 minutes, Teen contestants will interview for 3 minutes. During the interview process, the panel will ask the contestants questions primarily from the contestants bio sheet but the judges can ask other things as well. No political or religious questions will be asked, unless they can be attributed to information provided by the contestant. Attire should be age appropriate and professional, something you would wear to a job interview.
Fun Fashion- Contestants will model their fun fashion attire on stage. This will also be the outfit they wear for introductions and promo (queen contestants only). This can be any type of outfit that the contestant chooses to wear onstage. Think cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, rompers, high low dress, etc.
Promo (Queen contestants only)- Queen contestants will present a 30 second or less event promo about the WV Molasses Festival. Attire will be their fun fashion outfit.
Evening Gown- Contestants will model an evening gown of their choice.
Requirements:
Teen contestants must be 13-15 years old on the day of the pageant. Queen contestants must be 16 years of age and not have reached their 22nd birthday by January 1, 2027. A 15 year old may compete in the Miss division if she will reach her 16th birthday before December 31, 2026. Contestants must have never been married or given birth to a child. Contestants attest they are of good moral character and have not been involved at any time in any act of inappropriate behavior that may bring discredit or harm to the pageant, festival, or its reputation. All contestants shall refrain from bullying behaviors as this will not be tolerated. If we are made aware of bullying behaviors at any time you will be asked to leave the pageant and no refund will be issued.
Prior to the pageant, should any Teen/Queen contestant enter and win an affiliated WVAFF Pageant their entry fee will be refunded in full. The contestants who are crowned WVMolasses Festival Queen and Teen Queen will be prohibited from entering any affiliated WVAFF Pageant until after the 2027 WV Association of Fairs and Festivals Pageant. Entry Fee will NOT be refunded otherwise for any other reason.

The Teen Queen will receive a Crown, Custom Sash, Custom Sash Pin, Flowers, Plaque, Crown Case, Embriodered Chair and more.
The Queen will receive a Crown, Custom Sash, Custom Sash Pin, Flowers, Crystal Trophy, Traveling Sceptor, Crown Case, Embriodered Chair, entry fee and hotel paid for the 2027 WVAFF Pageant and more.
Photos- These will be judged by a local photographer and a photogenic award will be given in each division. This has no impact on the final outcome of the pageant. These can be emailed to molassesfestpageant@gmail.com the same day as the application!
Early bird applications are due by May 26th at 10:00pm.
Final applications are due by 10:00pm on June 1, 2026 WITH PAYMENT AND PHOTO. No late entries will be accepted! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Early Bird Teen $100 ($125 after May 26th)
