  • 2025 NOMINATION GUIDELINES 

     

    The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Indian River Chapter welcomes nominations for its National Philanthropy Day® (NPD) awards.

    In honor of AFP Indian River’s 20th National Philanthropy Day celebration, 20 honorees will be recognized on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

    Join us as we honor the individuals, organizations, and volunteers whose remarkable vision, generosity, dedication, talents and treasure have enhanced the strength, impact and effectiveness of philanthropic endeavors in Indian River County.

     

    Guidelines

    • All Indian River nonprofit organizations are eligible to submit a nomination.
      Honorees must be present to accept the award at the 2025 National Philanthropy Day® celebration on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.
    • AFP Indian River invites the philanthropic community to nominate extraordinary individuals, businesses, groups, or organizations to one of the following (3) three categories: Outstanding Philanthropist, Outstanding Volunteer, and Outstanding Community Involvement & Corporate Citizenship. AFPIR reserves the right to modify the category selected.
    • Up to 15 nominations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
    • Past award recipients may not be nominated. Please refer to the list of past award recipients before submitting your nomination.
    • A representative from each nominating organization will be invited to participate in a video to be presented during and after the NPD ceremony.
    • Nominations are due no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, August 29th.
       

    Nominations Should Include

    • A description of the nominee's accomplishments, distinguished service and commitment to the community.
    • Impact on the nominator's organization including time, talent and treasure committed.
    • Impact on other nonprofit organizations in Indian River County including time, talent and treasure committed.
    • Any other awards/honors received.
    • Any other information that makes the nominee worthy of the award nomination.
    • Other community members and/or organizations that would be likely to attend the NPD Awards celebration if the nominee is chosen to be honored.
       

    Nomination Narrative

    The nomination narrative should not exceed one (1) page, double spaced with font size 12 pt.

  • TIMELINE
     
    One application per non-profit organization will be accepted. A nominee may be an individual, couple, group, business or organization.


    TUESDAY, JULY 15, 2025 - NOMINATION WINDOW OPENS
    A link to the nomination packet and nomination form will be emailed to local nonprofits, posted on the AFPIR website and shared on social media.


    FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2025 - NOMINATION WINDOW CLOSES
    The online application must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM on Friday, August 29, 2025. Nominations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. If there are duplicate honorees, we may ask that you work with the other non-profit to submit jointly.


    WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 2025
    Cocktail Reception and Meet & Greet at Northern Trust from 4:30 to 6:00 PM.
    This event is reserved for nominees, nominating organizations, and top sponsors.


    TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2025
    Precious Gems: Celebrating 20 Years of National Philanthropy Day
    Vero Beach Museum of Art, 4:30 - 6:30 PM
    Tickets: $100 per-person
    Tickets will be available for purchase through AFP Indian River’s website.
