Science Outreach Fellow Application

Applications are open for the Science Outreach Fellows (SOF)Program. The SOF program is a volunteer program open to undergraduate and graduate students. Selected students will engage in monthly ongoing community outreach opportunities with K-12 students in schools and community programs. Science Outreach aims to address the gap in awareness, preparedness, and retention of students in STEM careers. Applications are open now and close September 15. Interviews will be held via Zoom in August and early September. Selected SOFs attend a required training session to understand how to create and implement a hands-on science activity for K-12 students. SOFs also have required monthly leadership training workshops. After the training, each month SOF volunteers sign up to lead or work in groups to support monthly local outreach opportunities.
