For all applicants:

If successful, an invoice for the grant funds can be issued by a host organisation or individual with an Australian Business Number (ABN).
If successful, the event will be open to the general public - online or in-person - and will be advertised on the Social Sciences Week website.
If successful, the event will be registered on the Social Sciences Week website by 14 August 2026.
If successful, the event will be social-science themed.
If successful, the event will be held during Social Sciences Week, 12 and 20 September 2026, or the week immediately before or after.
If successful, information and images will be provided to the Academy’s communications team for purposes of promoting Social Sciences Week.
I agree to receive a short survey on my/our experience with Social Science Week and the Spark Grant program after SSW2026, irrespective of the outcome of this application.
For in-person events:
The event will be appropriately covered by public liability or other insurance held by the organising institution or venue.
Risk assessment and risk mitigation will be completed as part of event planning, including ensuring all staff or volunteers have current working with children/vulnerable people checks if required.
