Terms & Conditions – Greetings Card Design 2026
1. Entrance into the competition is deemed to signify acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
2. The Greetings Card Design Competition 2026 is owned and run by the charity The Hand Engravers Association of Great Britain.
3. Contact details you provide here will be shared with staff and volunteers at the Hand Engravers Association only as required by the purposes of the competition and only the winner’s contact details and those of any finalists will be shared with Baddeley Brothers Ltd.
4. You must own or have permission to use the photo, image, design or engraved plate you submit. All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party.
5. Entrants must be over 18 and based in the UK.
6. Each of the shortlisted entrants will be contacted by email by staff or volunteers at the Hand Engravers Association. The judging will take place one week after the competition closing date.
7. Entries must not have previously been printed for sale.
8. Baddeley Brothers Ltd reserves the right to edit or adapt the drawings submitted. The winning entry will be printed with a statement including details of the Hand Engravers Association, Baddeley Brothers Ltd and the entrant’s name on the reverse.
9. The design will be printed in one or two colours, on card stock and sold/supplied with envelopes.
10. Any plates engraved by Baddeley Brothers Ltd from the winning design will remain property of Baddeley Brothers Ltd.
11. The entrant grants the Hand Engravers Association an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive right to use the images submitted for the competition for the Association’s promotional and charitable activities. Entrants agree their image (if a winner) will be used by Baddeley Brothers Ltd for its cards available for the public to purchase from their website and other related activities. No royalties will be payable to the winning entrant.
12. By taking part in this competition, you understand that the images may be used by the Hand Engravers Association and Baddeley Brothers Ltd for general marketing purposes in relation to engraving and printing and may appear in magazines, local, regional and national communications, both in print and online.
13. Prizes as stated. No cash equivalent will be offered.
14. Winners will be notified via email.
15. Entrants must complete an entry form and provide their name, telephone number and email address with their entry.
16. The Hand Engravers Association and Baddeley Brothers Ltd reserve the right to publish the winning card and details of the winner (e.g. name, and engraving interest/status of the entrant) as and where deemed appropriate. This could include on their websites and social media pages.
17. The Hand Engravers Association reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions and deadline. Any changes will appear on our website.
