Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Gardens of Golden Gate Park. Amongst our three gardens, the San Francisco Botanical Garden is most suitable for group volunteering. With 55-acres, the San Francisco Botanical Garden has many projects available for your team to help maintain our living museum and create opportunities to connect people to plants, the planet, and each other! The expansiveness of our collection allows us to host horticultural group service projects for 5-80 participants.
Participant Contribution Structure
The participant contribution for volunteer projects is tax-deductible and helps cover the cost of program and project management.
- Corporate and private events: $35/person participant contribution
- Non-profit organizations: Sliding scale for non-profit group projects; determined by the non-profit organization.
- Youth, academic, and student groups: waived for students currently actively enrolled in an accredited program
Waivers and Minimum Age of Participants
Participants should be at least 14 years old. Participants who are 14 years old should have a parent or guardian in attendance with them. Participants who are 15-17 years old who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian must bring a completed Minor Consent Waiver to their assignment or provide it in advance by emailing volunteer@gggp.org. Volunteers 18 and over will complete a waiver link shared by their team lead, in Jotform.
Completing this Form and Selecting Your Preferred Date and Time
Please complete the entire form to share your interest. While we will do our best to accommodate your group on the date and at the time you request, we may have limited availability. Please note that it is advised that you select a date that is at least four weeks away to allow for scheduling and confirmation. While we may be able to accommodate smaller, repeat groups with shorter advance notice, it is harder to confirm a date within this four week window.
